My self-summary
I'm a geek girl, and have lived in Seattle for six years now. I read constantly, mostly fantasy, science fiction, and comics, but nearly anything intelligent will catch my attention eventually, like David Foster Wallace's nonfiction. Oh, and right now there are stacks of books on food science and molecular gastronomy scattered around the house. I used to spend an absurd amount of time on crafts, including spinning, weaving, dyeing (natural and synthetic), making felt, painting silk, beading and random other things, but now what little time and energy I have for crafts is devoted to making Steampunk jewelry. I'm fascinated by words and language. I love the water. I can sometimes be convinced to go hiking, which I enjoy whenever I can avoid asthma attacks. I like going to the movies, but have to be careful about whom I go with, because I will rant interminably.

I am picky about semantics and grammar.

I used to be a theater major, but everyone there sounded like they were in a Bertholdt Brecht play.

I used to tend to have a small group of close friends instead of a wide circle of casual friends. Opening a restaurant seems to mean that lots of people want to claim me as a friend, but I have a very small group of people I actually spend my time off with.

I'm bipolar, but pretty stable.

I like a good debate.

I have three cats and a shaggy dog.

I'm an Hellenic Eclectic Solitary Wiccan, and if you can figure out what that means, you're doing well.

I don't have much time for OKC now, between the three people I'm already seeing and the bouncing baby restaurant I own and operate, but if you actually manage to write a message that interests me, I'll probably respond.

Minime Latinae linguae dico et multus ei subobscaenus est. Pedicabo et irrumabo te, exemplar gratis. Mater glis erat et olens sambucis pater. Te futue.

I am intelligent, geeky, and curious
What I’m doing with my life
Having finally acquired a culinary degree and spent a little time in different restaurants around town, I have now opened my own restaurant. Please don't ask what my specialty is, or what my restaurant serves. People always ask that when they don't know what else to say. Instead, ask me what a subtlety is, what I want to do with molecular gastronomy, or what the proper definition of "chef" is.
I’m really good at
Words, mythology, symbols, crafts, cooking . . .
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair. It is Cthulhu's Little Sister! Well, that or the cleavage -- it depends on the clothes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
(a) Charles DeLint's Newford-and-related books, Patricia McKillip's work, Tamora Pierce's Tortallan books, Neil Gaiman's work, Terry Pratchett's Discworld.

(b) I'm fond of fantasy, science fiction, action and comic book movies that are focused on stories and characters rather than big explosions. Also random other things. Mirrormask is very high on my list, as well as the works of Hiyao Miyazaki. The Princess Bride is very dear to me. My favorite TV show is Shadow Unit.

(c) Today? SJ Tucker. Tomorrow? Probably someone else you haven't heard of. Not because I'm some indie music snob, but just because I have odd and obscure tastes. Which I'm happy to share with you.

(d) Seafood. Garlic. Pasta. Beef. Lamb. Most things, really, as long as they're quality ingredients, well-prepared. Bittersweet chocolate.
The six things I could never do without
Books!

GOOD food.

True friends.

Family.

Chocolate.

New things to learn.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Gods, recipes, craft projects, subtleties, shades of meaning, the state of the world, molecular gastronomy, bento, books, my freaking restaurant.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working. It's the whole food service industry thing, really. We work while you play. My night off is Monday, and usually I'm crashed out at home with the critters and my girlfriend.
I’m looking for
  • Guys and girls who like bi girls
  • Ages 27–42
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
You're not a complete jackass; you can use correct English spelling and grammar (or a spellchecker); you're not put off by the bipolar thing; you want to talk to an opinionated, brilliant woman. Also, please note that I have no interest in dating a person more than ten years my elder or five years my junior, nor in involvement with people in supposedly monogamous relationships. And if you're going to open a conversation by asking me what kinky things I'm into or praising my tits and/or ass, don't bother. If you can't start an actual conversation, don't message me. Want some tips on how not to sound like an idiot when you do message me? Try this.
