I am here, there, and everywhere.

My Self-Summary

Update: I'm currently living in India for a year. I've been here about 6 months and have a little over 5 months before I return.

For some reason, I looked at my profile today and thought "who the hell am I describing?!"...Also, I think I've managed to attract the exact people I would not want converse with beyond exchanging pleasantries or pointing out obvious weather patterns. So here goes: I am a blunt person by nature. This does not mean I have no tact. It means, when the tact doesn't work, I'm not adverse to telling it like it is. Or at least telling it like it is from my perspective. I'm not a fan of whining though I tend to do it from time to time. Everyone does, but there's a limit to the amount I can stomach from myself or anyone else. This isn't because I don't care but that I'm entirely too empathetic and have a tendency to take on other people's problems like they're my own. I will help anyone willing to help himself/herself. Ok, so I'm cynical (obviously) but usually in a funny way. I adore absurdist humor. If you have a dark sense of humor, we'll get along fine. Not dark as in goth, let's share eyeliner....more macabre wit. There's little I don't find humor in...I mean VERY little. Including myself. If you take yourself too seriously, you're not going to like me. Exit stage left. Now that I've told you everything I don't like...how about some things I DO like. Freshly laundered sheets...or freahly laundered money..sheets are easier to get though. Laughing and crying at the same time. I prefer the tears of joy version of that scenario, but I don't mind the laughter through tears. Sometimes hurting is good. It lets you know what's important to you. I love my cats. I love my family. My friends are family, so that includes them too. I love hugs. Not the loose, back tapping kind, but the big, lung crushing, bear hugs. I like letting people know I love and cherish them. I like inside jokes that morph throughout years until no one can even remember how they started. I like tattoos and rain and MUSIC...lots and lots of music. I do have tattoos by the way but can't put up pictures here because of the policy. They're not small tattoos nor do I have a tramp stamp, tribal anything, letters from any language or anything I would make fun of myself for having. Not true, actually....I sometimes make fun of myself for having tattoos at all. Also, for some unknown reason, I have had several people who seemed to have taken it upon themselves to be concerned with the welfare of my immortal being...please, if something about my profile inspires you 'save me from myself'....refrain. I'm not looking to buy your ticket to enlightenment. If you're still reading...well done.

What I’m doing with my life

I have NO idea.......but it's damn sure fun to be alive. This is the weirdest life I've ever had. (and no I don't believe in reincarnation, I'm just joking.....I don't believe in many things that can't be proven through science or common sense. So I don't really believe in anything....except my iPod...I believeth upon my iPod!)

I’m really good at

I'm pretty good at making myself laugh. I am really good at making mixed cds. I'm good at loving and being loved (it's harder than most people imagine)

The first things people usually notice about me

Eyes or dimples or tattoos....SOME people mention the humpback and webbed feet, but I don't really think it's all that noticable.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(A) Ishmael, Heart of Darkness, Lolita, Illusions, anything by Christopher Moore, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Neil Gaiman and Mya Angelou. I read graphic novels from time to time. I wouldn't say I'm a comic book fan though, just a few select good ones. I'm a big fan of Whitman and Auden. A man that will read to me will have me putty in his hands.

(B) Movies.....wow, here we go....Boondock Saints, Oldboy, Army of Darkness, Evil Dead, Office Space, The Usual Suspects, Resevoir Dogs, The Breakfast Club, Caddyshack, Animal House, Space Balls, Blazing Saddles, The Big Lebowski, The Legend of 1900, Tombstone, Stealing Beauty, Before Sunrise, O Brother Where Art Thou, Barton Fink, anything by Cameron Crowe, cheesy 80's movies I also like king-fu....

(C) Tool, Pink Flyod, Portishead, The Cure, Fionna Apple, Poe, Deathcab for Cutie, The Shins, The White Stripes, Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, A Perfect Circle, Bouncing Souls, NOFX, Bad Religion, Journey, Billie Holiday, Cat Power, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Coldplay, Counting Crows, Pearl Jam, David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Flogging Molly, Frente, Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen, Pinback, Fugazi, Primus, The Who, Tom Petty, Queen....I could go on and on and on...

The six things I could never do without

Family, cats, ipod, car, laughter, music/books

I spend a lot of time thinking about

anything and everything...

On a typical Friday night I am

Out and about, or at home with a movie. Depends on my mood.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I won't admit anything without sufficient evidence to prove I was there......I'm talking DNA evidence....

You should message me if

You're into goofy, somewhat brainy girls that can't carry on a linear conversation....Also...a disclaimer: If you're in to the whole organized religion thing, move along. You don't offend me, but I assure you, at some point, I will offend you.
