I usually read in periods, but I've always got a couple of halv-finished books lying around. One of them is most likely something by Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett or Neil Gaiman. The other one is probably a book from some epic fantasy series, like Katherine Kerr's Deverry. I also like Nick Hornby (High Fidelity) and Zadie Smith(White Teeth), and some classics (Edgar Allen Poe, Oscar Wilde).
Garden State is one of my favourite movies. I generally prefer films with some kind of substance (not necessarily one that makes you want to go and kill yourself, but nevertheless affects you in some way), like Once, Magnolia, Donnie Darko, Station Agent, Happiness, Amélie. I can never get enough of The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, and I also like Pixar films like Wall-E and Ratatouille.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Life of Brian makes me laugh.
