My Self-Summary
Hello. Here’s a bit about me.
My main interests are movies, theater, art, music, international news, science, photography, travelling, different cultures. For fitness I enjoy hiking, running and cycling.
I am a bit of a non-conformist. I think that is what makes me different than most of the people I know. I don’t pay much attention to trends, and in fact I am kind-of repelled by what the mainstream does. The fact that I prefer working overseas is an example.
I’m interested in lots of different kinds of music, but my favorites are 1990’s alternative rock and dance, 1980’s pop and metal, disco. I also like a bit of jazz, and 1970’s stuff.
I am rather reserved socially. I go out to bars and parties from time to time, but I’m definitely not the “life of the party” type of person. Really, I prefer talking one on one with people I know.
About what I look like, I am 5'7" (170cm) tall, 150lbs (70 kg) in weight, German/Irish heritage, my hair color is reddish/brown or auburn. Most people think I look younger than my age.

What I’m doing with my life
I am a mechanical engineer, and I have worked overseas in Libya and
Indonesia. I prefer working overseas actually. I am in the … ahemmm
… oil and gas industry (aka The Evil Empire). Eventually, I would
like to switch to a different industry, like alternative energy.
Incidentally, I have three citizenships; Canadian, U.S. and Irish.
I’m really good at
This is a tough one. I use to be good at school, but that was a
while back now. I think I am good at my job. But I imagine there
are people that are better than me also. I guess I am pretty good
at staying informed on a variety of subjects, in particular
international news and sciences. People have said I am a good
listener, I suppose there is some truth to that.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Favorite book: Hmmm ... The Great Gatsby
Movie: Easy one. It's a tie between Lawrence of Arabia and Blade Runner.
Music: Hmmm ... I guess Nirvana, but it's a bit boring now. I also like Fu Manchu.
Food: I'm really in to Lebanese food lately, I like schwarmas, baklava, ayran. I also like the Arabic couscous with lamb sauce. I should also mention Pizza, of course.
