Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
That's it, I'm convinced: the election is over. Pay no attention to
the media in the last few days. It is in their interests to say
"the race is narrowing," but they will be predictably lying. If you
doubt me, read the 538 Blog in the NY Times: detailed, neutral and
insightful analysis. It shows that Obama has a 83 percent chance of
winning. Yes: 83. And I believe it.
I like the company of strong, smart and passionate ladies who also
use and appreciate courtesy. I will gladly hold the door open for
you. I hope you will help me discover great new doors we can enjoy
walking through together.
Having had long relationships I have a pretty good sense both for
myself, and for what I want - and don't want - in a partner. I will
always do my best to be positive and spread good karma, but at base
I am on this site hoping to meet someone amazing and special (at
least to me) I would not otherwise trip over on the Manhattan
streets. Perhaps you can relate?
Checklist: good kisser; positive outlook; confident; love my
family, love to travel; coffee lover. I want to wake up with
someone wonderful each day - and yes, the same person. I smile at
kids and dogs on the streets. Nice guy, yes, but with plenty of
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working. Laughing. Trying to spread good karma. I'm a writer by
nature and profession.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Reading, writing, grammar.
Wandering museums and taking in lectures.
Cooking and entertaining.
The first things people usually notice about me

My "FM voice," or my laugh perhaps. Visually? My hair: I have
plenty, it's staying, and I don't have any grey.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: an English major, I am "well read" and a writer by nature. I
like books (fiction and non) but also read The New Yorker. I can't
help but read at almost all times. Shakespeare is my favorite. Not
an Ayn Rand fan.
Movies: Love classics: "Casablanca," "To Catch a Thief," "The Day
of The Jackal," "Sabrina," "Lawrence of Arabia," "Roxanne" and lots
of others. The commonalities are good stories well told, bereft of
meaningless violence and tired Hollywood cliches, particularly bad
female characters like strippers, supermodel cops and
Music: anything and everything.
Food: omnivore. About the only things I won't eat are anchovies,
olives and mayonnaise. I have become a decent cook but will always
defer to a true master.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family, including five nieces and nephews
Old and dear friends
Sunshine/outdoor time (this is Manhattan)
Good strong coffee
Great food and wine
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why we're all here. What's next. Politics/current events (I'm a
liberal Democrat). How to make people smile - myself included!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Likely out in Manhattan with friends. I also like wandering about
the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural
History. (I am a member of both.) If you'd like to wander with me
and help me see things in new ways, so much the better.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
