My self-summary
Tough to write about yourself without sounding cocky, but...

I have a good sense of humor and you need the same. If you don't laugh a lot then this probably won't work :)

Music is a big part of my life, so expect high school-esque mixes

I'm usually pretty well-informed -- I think current events and politics are fascinating. Gawker, NPR and BBC are golden

I play guitar decently. Mostly acoustic finger plucking/strumming (Iron & Wine, James Taylor, etc). No, I won't play "Hey There Delilah"

When I eat out (which I do a lot) I usually go to some place new; I like trying new food for the sake of trying new food. Ordering something I've had at a place I've been to sounds like hell. Favorite restaurant right now: Olio
What I’m doing with my life
Engineer at a metals company. Different than my degree but it's cool learning something new
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
David Foster Wallace (RIP) is my favorite writer. Also a fan of Franzen, Sedaris and Vonnegut. I subscribe to The New Yorker but I don't read it as much I should....

I listen to a ton of music. I'd like to say my taste is all over the place but most of what I like is either indie-ish or electronic (except dubstep). Alt-J, Arcade Fire, Phoenix, Sufjan, Grizzly Bear, Tallest Man On Earth, Edward Sharpe, Foster The People, just about any RAC remix. As terrible as her voice is, Joanna Newsom will always be high on my list

Food-wise, I'll try anything twice. I'm always down for Indian food though

Not a big movie person but I like a lot of TV shows. Arrested Development is great but Seinfeld is still the king of comedy shows. Parks and Rec, Modern Family, The Sopranos, Mad Men, Breaking Bad

For some reason I love mockumentaries
