In a nutshell:
I'm laidback, easygoing, independent, yet highly motivated and
ambitious individual with a very sarcastic sense of humor. I moved
to Chicago about 5 years ago and love exploring new parts of the
city, going out to shows and generally just enjoying all the things
Chicago has to offer.
Since the ripe old age of 14, I've always had a passion for moving
images. I saved and saved for my first video camera and knew from
then on I wanted a career behind the camera.
Some of my hobbies include photography, snowboarding and
skateboarding. I also like getting down on a game of beach
volleyball by the lake and have been getting more into kayaking as
well since summer is finally here. I enjoy seeing live music,
checking out oddball films at the Landmark or Gene Siskel film
center, or seeing whats going on at the local comedy club always
makes for a good time as well....
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Freelancing through the ups and downs of TV production as a camera/
steadicam operator. Trashy reality tv is what mostly keeps my bills
paid and lights on, though I hope to work on something with content
more moving than bitchy bridezillas or pregnant strippers in the
near future. Seems for every one awesome gig, theres 10 that are
complete shit, so it goes...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Finding the good in everything

I'm not sure, you should probably ask them.

Oh man, I don't know where to begin here.....
I read mostly non-fiction, I'm a self confessed nerd. A total news
junky, I love reading about current events and what is going on in
the world, and of course anything to do with the film
My musical tastes are all over the place, from more eclectic folk
stuff like Dylan and Neil young, mixed with some good classic indie
rock like the Pixies, Pavement, or a little Built to Spill. I also
like a dose of some good hip hop from the likes of Jurassic 5,
Talib Kweli among others. I've been searching the local scene
lately and have been really digging Martha Berner and The Hawthorne
As far as movies go, I love stuff from Stanley Kubrick, Tarantino,
The Coen Brothers. Anything shot by Haskel Wexler or Roger Deakens
are a ok in my book as well. Oh and Living in Oblivion is one of my
favorite movies ever...
I'm a sucker for serial dramas and feel HBO consistently puts out
some the the best and smartest programming out, AMC has certainly
stepped their game up as well. Deadwood, The Wire, Treme, Dexter,
Sopranos, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire and The Walking Dead are all
among my favorites.
I've been a Vegetarian my whole life (Hippieish Parents) and love
the goldmine of Veggie and Veggie friendly restaurants Chicago has
to offer. I do enjoy cooking, and can cook up some mighty tasty
stuff, however I enjoy eating out much much more so you will
usually catch me rotating around the various veggie places in the
city on any given night. Some favorites are Handlebar, Karyn's, and
Mana food bar. I'm pretty sure if I ate meat, the Reuben would be
my favorite sandwich ever! Oh ya, no I don't care if you eat meat
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How crazy this world we live in is.. Should I move to LA when my
apartment lease is up?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Well, since my schedule is always changing I don't really have a
"typical" Friday Night. I could be working, catching up on rest,
sitting in front of the tube or partying till the sunrise..
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I had a daughter when I was 18 who died of meningitis 6 weeks after
she was born. It changed my life for the better, I wasn't headed
down a good path before that happened. It was an eye opener to say
the least. (Too private?)
