My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well, how do I make myself sound interesting without being egotistical? Hmm.

I was born and raised in Vancouver. I speak a bunch of different languages (not all fluently though), and I'm an artist (musician/writer/filmmaker).

One thing about me that I'm not ashamed to admit is that I'm a complex guy. People may make assumptions about me based on this profile or even after meeting me, but there's a lot to me that you would only understand and learn if you stick around.

And I like to think it's all worth it, too.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to prove to the world that being a musician/writer/filmmaker does not have to end in poverty (so far, I am not faring well).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Romancing, sweeping you off your feet.

Others: playing piano, feeling extremely awkward, watching movies without unnecessary commentary, taking walks in (comfortable) silence
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I actually exist.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: A Prayer for Owen Meany, Pride and Prejudice, Great Expectations, Time Traveler's Wife (the movie sucks), His Dark Materials Trilogy, David Sedaris, Alice in Wonderland, Handmaid's Tale, On the Road, Watership Down, etc.

Movies: oh god, there are so many. Citizen Kane, Amélie, The Apartment, The Artist, All is Quiet on the Western Front, anything from Miyazaki, The General (Buster Keaton), etc. etc. Trying to watch all of imdb's Top 250 movies; I've seen 181 so far.

Music: intelligent pop music such as Vanessa Carlton, Rufus Wainwright, Jamie Cullum, Fiona Apple, Kelly Clarkson, but also jazz and Classical too. Oh, and everyone gripes about country music, but classic country music -- Patsy Cline's "Crazy", "You Belong to Me", Conway Twitty’s "It’s Only Make Believe" -- that's some of the best, most heartbreaking music that has ever existed.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My piano.
2. My friends.
3. My cat?
4. Art.
5. A pen.
6. This one is open for now.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Projects, how to make the world less stupid.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home either watching a movie or having a reading party. Woooo! Jane Austen really makes a Friday night wild!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I started making a list a while back of special first date ideas. I like to think they're pretty special.
