What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Former (aka "recovering") journalist/politico...current lawyer...not nearly as type-A as those career choices would suggest.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Laughing/making my friends to be good at skiing and soccer and new-school video games... actually being good at running/hiking and lawn sports and old-school video games (NES ftw, noob!)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile, or maybe my laugh? Both are outsized, frequent and slightly off.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Always in the middle of a few books plus some combo of The Economist, The Onion, Grantland and NPR every day on the bus. I've missed stops before to finish articles/chapters. It's a problem. Happy to share favorite authors, but prefer to do it over drinks!

I love movies more than I love bacon. Which is a lot. Way too much to list favorites. But if you like Wes Anderson, the Coens, Quentin Tarantino, Spielberg, Hitchcock, John Hughes, Disney/Pixar or anything in between then we're going to have flicks in common, trust me.

Feel the same way about music. It's the best thing about having ears.

Don't do much real-time TV. But I deeply enjoy blitzing thru entire series on Netflix/Hulu. Currently wrapping up Breaking Bad, holding out hope for a happy ending.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My friends and family, including my dog and everyone else's dog. So, basically, all of the dogs. (Which, admittedly, is probably more than six things.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Dinner-partying, board-gaming, weekend-shennanigans-plotting, or enjoying the best thai food in Seattle ( ... you're welcome). Sometimes all of the above.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you want to. (I don't believe in pre-reqs. But I do award extra credit for knowing how to set up a Catan board or a Kuub field. Or for having awfully awesome Cards Against Humanity stories you're willing to share.)
