I am organized messes, argyle socks, and awkward silences.

My Self-Summary

i have a ridiculously adorable dog. her name is junebug. she's really special. currently we spend far too much time together. i am hoping to change that... or at least add someone to the mix who's poop i don't have to pick up and who will make the conversations a little less one-sided. that is why I am here. mentioning poop (twice!) might not be the best move.

i live a pretty simple life. my closest friends live far away and I work in a small studio, so my opportunities for meeting new people at the moment are not abundant. i love this city and everything around it.

apart from spending a lot of time with my dog, i like riding my bike...a lot, building really nice bikes for people, snowshoeing, snowboarding, marathoning a tv series, dipping foods in deliciousness, shaking my can on a dance-floor (seriously..there is video footage of me cutting it up to a woman singing happy birthday), taking naps and visiting all my rad friends who live in beautiful cities around the world.

What I’m doing with my life

more or less wandering aimlessly, yet somehow in a manner that appears to others to be very organized, determined and with purpose.

right now i am creative director for a small VFX/rendering/animation studio and partner in an industrial design venture. 2 years ago i was designing useless high end furniture in new york. before that I worked over 20 different jobs. i have never been fired. 2 years from now i'll be building my shipping container villa in nicaragua and working remotely from there...or still here...i like my job and i get to bring my dog to work, so maybe i'll stick with it for once

I’m really good at

pretty much everything...apart from relationships, yoga, refraining from buying argyle socks, making small talk, making the first move, writing, typing, eating breakfast, biology, lying...ok...so maybe not everything.

The first things people usually notice about me

how cute my dog is, or how nice my bike is.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

books... a heartbreaking work of staggering genius, middlesex, me talk pretty one day, superfudge, geek love, you shall know our velocity, ender's game...

movies... Donnie Darko, Old School, Battle Royale, Goonies, Juice, Stand By Me, City of God, The Warriors.

tv... arrested development, the wire, freaks and geeks...shear genius.

music... I was a dj for a long time and have dabbled in making my own music, but as most things in my life, my taste has fluctuated with time. at the core is indie rock though. tops on the list these days, are the rural alberta advantage, dark mean, fleet foxes, band of horses, beirut, born ruffians, the notwist, handsome furs... and there will always be a place for modest mouse. oh and i think refused is one of the greatest bands of all time.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

gorillas. mist.
