Obligatory statement about hating self description. Now that that's
out of the way....sometimes sarcastic. Occasionally didactic,
though I struggle to avoid it. I don't know everything and won't
pretend I do. I have an emotional relationship with the world
around me and I'm eternally trying to improve myself.
I am very honest and open about my thoughts and feelings and I like
the people in my life to be as well (I am as of now unable to read
minds). This DOES NOT MEAN RUDE OR CRUEL! People love to disguise
meanness as "honesty". I try to be accepting, tolerant, and
forgiving as much as possible. And apparently I use oxford
Learning is fun, maybe necessary. Empathy is unavoidable. I'm an
introvert but I love people.
I do not appreciate nor will I adhere to gender roles and
Apparently everybody on this site is either "laid back" or "easy
going". That can't be true. There can't possibly be that many
relaxed people in the world. Nothing would get done. That being
said, I'm a pretty agreeable guy.
What I’m doing with my life
Spending hours upon hours in a cube. Yes, cube. They're no longer
referred to as cubicles. It's an HR thing. Trying to write
something I can read without cringing. In a perfect world I'd be
making a living from my fiction. In the meantime I'm experiencing
And......Endlessly goofing off. Procrastinating. Sleeping when my
cats allow it. Droppin some serious eaves everywhere I go.
I’m really good at
Empathy, for better or worse. Reading people...and books.
Scootering. Sleeping. Obsessing over tasks until their completion
and then not caring about the result and moving on to the next
project. Making scented candles. Chopping wood. Im really good at
being bad at the guitar. I can sometimes be good with words. What
I'm best at though is the ability to multitask while daydreaming.
The first things people usually notice about me
Hmm....not sure as people rarely comment on my physical traits but
I'd have to say probably my hair or glasses
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Currently making my way through Murakami's entire collection.
Overall favorites? Pynchon, O'Connor, Chabon, Lovecraft, Boll, etc etc.
I like poetry too.
Podcasts galore: the maximum fun network, radiolab, the truth, etc.
A small amount of netflix; I don't religiously follow any series'.
Aaaaand now I'm bored with this question.
The six things I could never do without
Sadly, my cell phone. NPR and its affiliated podcasts. My pets. The
occasional Indian meal. Notebooks/pens. If I had to I could live
without my scooter but it would not be pleasant.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Broad youth cultural trends and their root causes. Philosophy and
its pretensions. The future. The past (though I wish I didn't).
Travel. I fantasize about moving away a lot. I daydream quite a
On a typical Friday night I am
It varies. Sometimes I'm out. Sometimes I'm home, playing board
games or watching movies. Usually laughing about something stupid.
Sometimes making up possible sequels to classic novels or hanging
out with cats.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm scared of roller coasters...
And I have no idea what pinterest is.
