My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a happy, easy-going guy with a pretty great life. I've got an excellent bunch of friends and a job I love, now I'm looking for a partner to share it all with.

A bit about me: People tell me I have a huge heart, though I sometimes lead with my intellect. My work affords me a pretty flexible lifestyle, and when I'm not working I tend to be fairly laid-back. I love adventures and long conversations, riding motorcycles, scuba diving, watching movies, reading books, and hanging out at Oskar Blues.

I am a people person, but I can make my own fun and am responsible for my own happiness. I've practiced martial arts for many years and I go on zen retreats from time to time, but I am focused on having a great life, not a spiritual path of deprivation and sacrifice. :-) I am committed to growth and practice, but as my zen teacher says, "If you have lost your sense of humor, you have surely lost your way."

A bit about who I'm looking to meet: She is generally happy and easy-going, but can still get things done when needed. She's self-sufficient and capable, but we can lean on each other sometimes too. She knows yourself well enough to know there's still a lot to learn. She is confident and strong enough to see the strength in vulnerability. She is willing to share me with my friends, and share her friends with me. She is interested in understanding the world, the culture, and the people around her and she'd like a partner to talk it all over with. There's a lot more, of course, but that might be a good start.

If you see yourself in any of that, I'd love to connect.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I absolutely love my work. I am a consultant and coach, helping people in business and industry bring the human side into their work.

In the past I've worked on five continents in environments ranging from hotel conference rooms to work sites in the subarctic and the steppes of Asia, but recently my work has been in the US.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Choosing a good hoppy beer, engaging in conversation, finding things to laugh about, helping people grow, enjoying people.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
For some it's my eyes, others my laugh, and for others the fact that I am a "grownup" who still drives a Tonka truck.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to live a joyful life. Philosophy, brain science, psychology, sociology. Why squirrels do what they do. People I love. Where I might go on my next adventure.

And, since I've been on OKCupid:
Why are so many of the questions so over-simplified or bizarrely polarized:
"Which shade of gray is your favorite? A. Black B. White C. I hate all colors."
For most, I feel like some explanation is necessary. And for some I just can't find an answer I can work with.
