I am Adventurous, Passionate, and Honest.
My Self-Summary
I like to go out and have a good time but am also laid back and
relaxed. I have a lot of interests including but not limited to:
swing
dancing,
photography,
traveling, being outdoors (
biking,
hiking,
rock climbing,
kayaking,
skiing),
cooking,
geocaching and shooting pool. In
between all that I'm rockin out to the soundtrack of my life,
watching a movie (good or bad), hanging with friends, O's games, or
chillin on my roof deck.
What I’m doing with my life
Working a challenging and sometimes frustrating sales job but I
know if I stick with this for a bit longer it'll give me the boost
I need in my career. I'm building up my work experience before
going for my MBA. I work hard and like to play hard or just take it
easy. Looking for new experiences and places to explore.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I'm usually reading 3 or 4 books at the same time. I
typically read historical fiction, select genres of fiction and
recommended non-fiction. I've got an eclectic bookshelf of books so
if you're truly interested in knowing what's on it just ask. For a
quick taste though on my nightstand is currently The Ring, The Last
Lecture, Deciding the Next Decider: The 2008 Presidential Race in
Rhyme, Watchmen, Defiance, The Audacity of Hope, Eclipse and
Roma.
Movies: I love movies! I've got over 250 movies spanning most
genres. It too is very eclectic but many people have complimented
me on the selection. About the only one I don't like is horror. I
have an over active imagination; those two do not mix well. I'm a
big fan of catching $6 matinees before noon on the weekends down in
Columbia.
TV: The Office, Chuck, 30 Rock, Mythbusters, How I Met Your Mother,
Scrubs, Bones, Deadliest Catch, NCIS, just about anything on
Discovery, History, SyFy (can't believe they changed their
name!)
Music: My music is eclectic as well, no surprise. I will listen to
just about anything though I'm a big fan of DMB, John Mayer, Arturo
Sandoval, Sugarland, Jason Mraz, Matt Nathanson, Rascal Flatts,
John Legend and Coldplay. I grew up on classical when kids were
listening to pop and then got into playing jazz.
Food: Sushi, Indian, Korean, Italian, Thai, Kabab (Shwarma the
fifth element)...seriously anything! I'm always up for trying
something new. Found a great Ethiopian restaurant near DC recently.
I'm open for recommendations.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order:
Food: I love to eat! Well not so much the act of eating but
savoring all kinds of dishes. I'll eat and try just about
anything.
Music: Played trumpet for many years and now only dabble with it
but I appreciate all genres and styles of music now. I really
appreciate people who can attend the symphony today, a rock concert
the next, a
jazz gig
the following night and boot scootch to country on the
weekend.
Family: It goes without saying
Friends: "Make new friends but keep the old. One is silver, the
other is gold."
Movies: I love hitting up the matinee show early Sat or Sun before
most everyone gets there. My taste of movies is almost as eclectic
as my music though the one genre I don't watch is horror. So if
anyone needs a movie watching partner because you can't find a
friend to go see said chickflic or comedy then I'm probably your
guy. There's not a whole lot I won't go see.
Planet Earth
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My future and most recently what and where do I want to go for a
new job. I hardly plan out things in advance, though I try, so
often I'm thinking about who's around and what we can get into.
Planning out bike rides, places to take photos, who else can I get
to know, when will I find that special someone, work (I do my best
to not let that take over most of my thoughts)...random other
things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends on my mood, energy level, and who's around. It can range
from staying in to going out and hitting up some bars, dinner with
friends, occasional date, or grilling on the roof top deck if the
weather is good. Oh and trying to plan out my weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm allergic to kiwis and I wear my heart on my sleeve
You should message me if
Activity buddy including and not limited to: hiking, biking,
skiing, kayaking, SCUBA diving, shooting pool, random
intellectual conversation: in person or online but I like to
discuss, debate and chat about random things.
