STUFF THAT BRINGS ME JOY: Slow Lorises, when Han shoots first, my
expensive oil paints, Kolinsky sable, the smell of gesso and
turpenoid natural, Arches cover white, mechanical pencils, and
belgians on draft. Sativas, synthetic motor oil, japanese incense,
socket wrenches, play-doh cologne, stage diving, cuddling under
ultra violet light, police issue handcuffs, and shaving with a
straight razor.
ART: Giger, Dali, Beksinski, Witkin, Rembrandt, Schiele, Nerdrum,
Caravaggio, Van Eyck, Klimt, Hans Bellmer, Francis Bacon, Bosch,
and a long list of contemporaries like Alex Grey, Mark Ryden,
Michael Hussar, Chet Zar, Peter Gric, Jeremy Geddes, on and on and
on.
LITERATURE: Nietzsche, William S. Borroughs, Hunter S. Thompson,
Kafka, Philip K Dick, Mark Z. Danielewski, H.P. Lovecraft, J.G.
Ballard, Clive Barker. Anything cerebral.
FILMS: I'm very passionate about film, I'm sure we'll have
something in common here. Soft spot for Studio Ghibli, Akira, the
brothers Quay, Coraline and Paranorman, The Big Lebowski, Un Chien
Andalou.
SHOWS: Haven't had a television in a long time, though there's
always something on Cartoon Network I'm interested in seeing. I
adore Adventure Time and Regular Show, Courage The Cowardly
Dog.
MUSIC: Intense, math-oriented stuff. The more technically
astonishing, the better. My tastes are varied, but I favor the
extreme, dark, and very heavy. Dark classical, technical death
metal, djent, funk, djentstep/deathstep, filthy EDM, intelligent or
surreal hiphop, dark IDM. Alice in Chains. Aesop Rock. Pink Floyd.
Primus, anything Les Claypool does. Meshuggah. I always
start the mosh pit.
