I'm new to the Boston area, having recently moved here from DC. As I am going through a transitional period in my life, I'm going to drop the snazzy wordsmithing and give you some useful basic facts, as the details may change soon.

I am a performer geek with a penchant for LARP (and other roleplaying), creative writing and theatre. I like to act, sing and dance. I also like video games and contra dancing.

I am polyamorous, and I do not think this makes me better than anybody who's not. I am handfasted to a wonderful girl who is married. This is ok.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I was an office mercenary, aka temp, but now I'm a barista at Starbucks.

I hope ultimately to do something creative with myself, and am working on a handful of writing/performance projects in the meantime. To wit:

The Age of Corporations, my fantasy/sci-fi universe,

Dark Line, the latest LARP that my girlfriend and I are writing,

The Christmas Revels, a yearly solstice celebration in dance and song, and

Threads of Damocles, a large LARP in which I am a continuity writer and cast member.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Useful: Cooking, acting, singing, dancing, typing, writing, customer service

Interesting: Cuddling, hugs, love, figuring out useless technological widgets, LARP, and video games, especially rhythm games like Dance Dance Revolution, Pump It Up and In The Groove.

I'm going to go with my three favorites of each. Books: The Ethical Slut, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Snowcrash. Movies: Waking Life, Hot Fuzz, Dress to Kill (Eddie Izzard). Musical Artists/Bands: Armin Van Buuren, bt, Leahy, Foods: Tiramisu, Bulgogi, milk-soaked cake.

Stories. They fill my head. Characters, places, worlds, inventions, flora and fauna. No days go by during which I have not made something up.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Hanging with friends, always. Sometimes drinking, sometimes watching a movie, sometimes just playing a rousing game of Apples to Apples or the dvorak card game. I like to go clubbing but get the chance more infrequently than I care for. I almost always spend fridays "out" or at a party. Sometimes I go contra dancing. More and more I am out at a weekend-long LARP.

People actually call me Dog. Yes, in real life. Puppy, if they know me well. Colin, if that's too weird for them.

One thing that being poly on a match site like this does for a guy is that it teaches him to accept someone on whatever terms he or she would prefer. I realize that not everybody is going to be willing to get romantically involved with a person who will not stay 'faithful' to her. I am fine with this. I only ask that you refrain from degrading the choice I've made about my lifestyle. It tells me that you prefer assuming to learning.
