My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Three passions in my life are music, science, and working with children. I feel very fortunate to have carved out my own professional path integrating all three.

My world view was shaped to a great degree by working with an African warrior tribe for two years improving the local health care delivery. That experience gave me a better appreciation of how fortunate we are on this side of the world. Plus it was fun chatting with local farmers in Konkomba and making field recordings of their music.

I love seeing live music, attending lectures, and working in my organic garden. I am drawn toward genuine people who seek to better the world through kindness and compassion. I strive to be optimistic, mindful, and nonjudgemental, although I can be pretty sarcastic at times.

I'm looking to explore life together with someone that inspires me on a deep level. I have little interest in putting energy into something without long-term potential.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
WORK ~ I have a private practice working with children with autism and ADHD. I have created my own approach using music and the science of behavior to teach children how to talk and navigate through our social world.

MUSIC ~ Music is an important part of my life; listening to it, making it, dancing to it. I am a drummer on both drum set and hand drums, play rhythm guitar, am becoming a better singer, and really need to practice the piano more.

YOGA/MEDITATION ~ I have found this to be a great way to take care of my body and mind. I prefer to put Buddhist philosophy into action in my day-to-day life rather than wade in spiritual narcissism.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
cooking, honesty, and communication.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
BOOKS ~ I love Mark Twain's sarcastic wit and forward momentum. I prefer non-fiction books such as Oliver Sachs' Musicophilia and Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel, but also enjoy Tom Robbin's Jitterbug Perfume and Wallace Stegner's Angle of Repose.

MOVIES ~ I don't watch many movies, so when I do, I prefer to watch meaningful and well-thought-out ones. I would watch any of Martin Scorsese's movies.

SHOWS ~ I don't have a TV but I do watch clips/episodes of The Daily Show, Hardball, Real Time with Bill Maher, and SNL.

MUSIC ~ I listen to a wide range of music including world music, downtempo, bluegrass, blues, reggae, and classical. Some of my favorite artists include: Shpongle, Grateful Dead, Paul Simon, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Nicki Bluhm, Crooked Still, Ernest Ranglin, Souad Massi, Ali Akbar Khan, Ali Farka Toure, and Zakir Hussain.

FOOD ~ I love to cook and am always looking for new recipes to try out. My beautifully seasoned wok is one of my most treasured possessions. I especially enjoy eating out in Ethiopian and Indian restaurants.

... you are smart, interesting, and passionate about life.

... you believe in science. If you think climate change is a hoax or that vaccines do more harm than good, we would not be a good match.
