My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, I'm a relative newcomer to NYC. I love it here and I'm always up for meeting new people to enjoy it with - in particular, to explore the awesome music scene here.
It's pretty hard to come up with something to put here that doesn't sound like a cliche!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Great question! Still trying to figure out the answer to that one. In the meantime, living in NYC and loving it. Working in advertising to pay the bills.

Trying with varying success to be "cultural" (whatever that means) and am also training to run the NYC half marathon.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Applying 30 Rock references to almost anything that happens in life
Fairly good at karaoke
Being a smart ass (hope that doesn't make me sound obnoxious)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Tough question, you might have to ask them! Maybe that I can be kinda shy until I get to know people. Also: I can be a smart ass - related to previous comment.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
TV:
30 Rock, Louie, The Wire, Breaking Bad (I know, so predictable, but so true), Parks and Rec, Curb, Arrested Development, Always Sunny, Daily Show, Colbert. I could go on.

Movies:
Goodfellas, 40 Year Old Virgin, Annie Hall, Empire Strikes Back, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Godfather II.

Books:
The Kite Runner, The Book Thief, Bossypants.

Food:
Too many to list! But, Japanese, pizza, curry (Indian, still haven't found a great one in the city). Another thing I love about New York - so many great restaurants!

Music:
All sorts, mostly: Tallest Man on Earth, Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds, Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, We Are Scientists and similar, but equally love me some cheesy pop. One of my favorite things about living in this great city is the awesome live music scene.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Red wine & cheese ( that counts as one, right?)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whether I can/should get a dog.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
No such thing in NYC?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Internet admissions are not really my style!

You're a good laugh and are interesting in showing me parts of NYC that I don't know yet.
