I've just finished Kevin Cameron's "Top Dead Center", and I'm on to
his book on Sportbikes.
I've been listening to Thievery Corporation, Bonobo, Zero 7, Link
Wray, Etta James, PJ Harvey, Falconieri's Ciaconna, Ciaconna
Paradiso, bunch of other stuff. Just discovered this crazy guy:
რობი / Outsider - ლოკავს. No idea what language he's singing in.
Russian maybe?
I don't watch much tv, and I'm picky about movies. I'm more likely
to watch the Daily Show, Colbert Report, or Frontline than Fox
News, though I sometimes listen to AM talk radio.
Food? I love to eat! One of life's simple (or not so simple)
pleasures. Anything as long as it's good. I don't eat much fast
food though I'll eat a burrito from a good "roach coach" or
tacqueria. I enjoy a fancy meal shared with friends, though I
generally eat simply when dining alone.
For some reason, a lot of ladies have been asking me about drinking
lately(???) so I figured I should touch on that. I drank a lot of
beer when when I was younger, but gave it up for many years. After
a few trips to Germany, I started drinking it again (now and then.)
I enjoy a good brew, something with depth and character, worthy of
being savored and lingered over. I grew up with good wine on the
table, so it was never a big deal with me ("snob appeal" isn't very
appealing.) I started drinking port a while ago. A good one is
sweet, smooth, velvety, like chocolate-covered cherries melting in
your mouth! My favorite Scotch is Laphroaig, either quarter cask or
triple wood, though I don't drink much. I love the way it smells,
rich, warm, smoky, exotic. Special occasions. Anyway, I don't
really drink much, so why not put something special in your mouth
when you do?
