My self-summary
The only thing more exciting to me than meeting someone whose views line up pleasantly with mine is meeting someone with whom I disagree in an interesting way. I hold my convictions solidly, up until the point when someone shows me a new way of seeing the world. I always try to keep in mind that being born an able-bodied, mostly straight, white male in America is playing life on the easiest difficulty setting. I cry at the drop of a hat when I see a good person struggling unfairly. What I'm trying to say is there is nothing more precious in this world than the people all around us, and I want to talk to all of you.
What I’m doing with my life
Last year I realized that what I want to do with my life is find ways to help others in theirs. I just started volunteering, which has already been extremely rewarding. Once I settle into my new schedule I'll start looking at ways to switch my career path into non-profit.
I’m really good at
Listening actively, empathizing. Mixing delicious and strong cocktails. Acting like this is the first time you've told me this story.
The first things people usually notice about me
I get comparisons to Ryan Gosling a lot.

I was recently told that I dress "southern," especially in my color palette. I wonder if anyone can confirm this, as I've never been to the south.

Television belongs to women. Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are the Trimurti of TV. Also, Golden Girls is the greatest show of all time.

The Moondoggies
Fleet Foxes
Aesop Rock
Sufjan Stevens
Kanye West
Arcade Fire

I listen to a lot of folk, country, and rap. Aesop's complex metaphors are a big part of how I make sense of the world.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Skeletons drumming on each other with themselves. Ghosts made of lightning and fire. The Nothing from The Neverending Story.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
David Bowie songs sound like a joke I'm not in on.
You should message me if
You ever read Buttercup Festival.

You want someone who isn't here just for a fling, but also isn't going to jump immediately into a relationship. You want to just meet a nice guy for supper and / or drinks and see what kind of connection can be made.
