My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Classically misunderstood. East coast born with west coast sensibilities. This was at one point a rant about how much better life is in the bay area, but now that I'm home I couldn't be happier. Still feels weird to say it, but I've always known when it was time to plant roots it would be here.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Fatherhood. Everyone says I'll have to give up some dreams but I see it a different way. I travel, study, and cook. Sometimes that affords us some luxuries, sometimes it doesn't. Just enjoying the seasons as they pass. We travel as often as possible and would rather be out. The curious nature of my son has revitalized what was becoming a rapid deterioration of the wonder I saw in this world. He also inspires me to, forgive me, be the change I want to see.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Travel on a shoestring. Fixing things... buildings, vehicles, other people's grievances. Truly a jack of all trades sort. If I can't do it, it's likely I will have a stack of books from the library and an internship within the week. I started a carpentry apprenticeship last year that keeps me challenged during the week. My culinary skills were supposed to carry me through college but everyone that has seen an weekend of the food network believes that they're Brillat-Savarin.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
No ring? Ahh, the joys of single parenthood, I wish. Mainly I get compliments on my son, so there's that. After seeing his eyes though some people compliment me on mine.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

As much as I read for school I am afforded little time to read for pleasure. Michael Pollan is one of my favorite authors though.

I do watch a bit of sci-fi. Mostly movies, but will stream a couple shows when I'm trying to wind down. Not a big TV guy.

Musical tastes run a broad range. Depends on the mood.

Don't even get me started on food. I was once working hard at becoming a great chef. Now I'm just really creative in finding ways to meet a toddler's nutritional needs.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I seem to be doing pretty well without anything I would have listed here a year ago. I have found happiness in giving up the material and focusing on building the paradise of my perspective. We are all kings and queens of our own universe, why the hell do we try to prove it to others?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The next adventure. Been a wild ride so far, now that I have to be the role model it's getting dialed up a notch. Counting down the days until my son is ready to travel the world. The day he says "I want to see it all dad", away we go.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Studying, putting the prince to bed, and being perfectly content to not be out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This is going to take a little more effort on your part. That being said, you start off with 100% trust with me. What you do with it is entirely up to you.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-You are not at all inhibited by my having a son. You should actually be pretty excited about the idea of having a kid around the majority of the time. He's cooler than I am anyways.
-You'd like to join our adventure club. We're pretty serious about seeing the world, you should be too.
-You have something to contribute to this world and have some plan of action towards doing so.
-You, like so many of us, would just like another good friend to hang out with. Yes, this is a dating site, but I wouldn't consider dating anyone that wasn't a great friend first.
-You can operate an infinite improbability drive, or at least know where your towel is.
