Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
To summarize one's self takes a level of self-awareness that I have
yet to achieve. Instead I would prefer to reenact my life via a
series of shadow puppets. Alas, OkCupid does not have that
option..so I guess I'll just analyze and try to succinctly put
myself into words.
I prefer quiet, laid back settings as opposed to loud, overbearing
party type scenarios. Game/movie night with friends > rave. That
said, I like having people around.
I ramble. A lot. I realize it's an annoying tendency I have. I
want/need to fix that.
I really love to talk---I absolutely love getting to know people. I
can guarantee you that getting to know me via message is better
than getting to know me through this awkward text box. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Well I'm currently a graduate theatre student working on a master's
degree. After this semester I'm planning to get a job teaching at
the high school level. Ultimately I plan to get either a PhD or MFA
and teach at the university level--wherever I end up, I know that
in order to be happy with life I'll need to be doing something
where I'm touching the lives of others and sharing my love of
theatre with future generations. :)
So...there's that. I'm more interested in hearing about what others
are doing with their futures! :D
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Using emoticons. I used to be an actor, and thus I'm used to
showing emotion. Messages, whether SMS or online, will be
accentuated with this emotion, and it shall come in the form of
emoticons/smilies. It's annoying, but...well, it's what I do.
Cooking. I absolutely love to cook and entertain my friends with
said cooking. Wanna hangout? I'll gladly make us dinner! :)
Gaming. Not in the competitive manner...unless it's Super Smash
Brothers Brawl (I'll beat yo ass crazy). I really love the Legend
of Zelda series and the Elder Scrolls series...I recently got into
Elder Scrolls Online, so....if you play, hit me up! I wanna play
with peeps. :)
Directing. In the theatrical sense, it is my greatest
passion---nothing makes me feel more alive than guiding a show to
life on stage alongside my company.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My sense of humor, probably. I take everything in stride, and try
to diffuse difficult situations with a well-timed joke or humorous
comment. I don't like stuffy situations.
Physically? My eyes, I guess. Or my butt. It's pretty voluptuous.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I love any book by Pat Conroy. His book "The Water is Wide"
is what inspired me to go into the field of education. I'd suggest
his works to anybody looking for a good read! Various play scripts
of course, anything by Gregory MacGuire. I enjoy costume/fashion
history books as welll.
Movies: STAR WARS! I'm a total nerd when it comes to my love of the
Star Wars movies. I'm not "one of those fans" that dresses up like
Princess Leia and goes to conventions, but I do rather like the
movie series. The Scarlet Letter, Gone with the Wind, Hairspray
(2007 musical edition), The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus
(favorite Halloween movie EVER), Mean Girls, Avatar, Gypsy (1993
version with Bette Midler)
TV Shows: I don't watch much television, but when I do, it's
usually either the news or Hallmark Channel (yeah I'm an old woman,
sue me). I've recently become addicted to ABC's Once Upon a Time
though...so amazing! I'm quite the Doctor Who fan...and I've
recently become kinda obsessed with Archer (and Arrested
Development is always glorious).
Music: Just give me some Broadway show tunes and I'm good --
especially my ol' friend Stephen Sondheim. :)
Food: I really like most types of food with the exception of
seafood (just never cared for it). Mexican and Tex-Mex is my
favorite. Nice southern comfort food is always a winner with me
though...meat loaf and mashed potatoes will always be a go to for
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
3. Facebook/Social Media (Yes, I realize how sad that is!)
4. Money/financial stability (I mean, I don't have to be rich or
anything...but I need some sort of stability, you know?)
6. Something to do with my time.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future, primarily. Where is my place in the world, etc, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Grading or preparing for a weekend tournament. The teacher life is
exciting, isn't it?!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm 24 years old and have never truly been in a stable
relationship. I can't help but feel responsible for that, and it's
something I would like to change.
