Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Named after Samuel Beckett.
I'm a cinematographer - mostly documentary work, some narrative and
a little commercial. I used to work for a production company but
now I'm out on my own; the leap was a little scary, but now that
I've made it, I'll never go back. It's given me the time and
freedom to start thinking about doing some of my own work, about
which I'm very excited (death to the hanging preposition).
When I'm not making movies, my other passions are:
I ride motorcycles, mostly old ones (newest bike I've ever owned
was a '95). Please don't say "I hope you wear a helmet". Just read
I build furniture. It's tough to find shop space in the city, but I
manage to finish a few pieces a year, which keeps me sane.
Trying to live as critically and deliberately as I can. I don't
mean I'm a tight-ass, I just try not to take anything for granted
or make stupid assumptions based on social norms. I try to stay in
motion, preferably but not always the forward variety.
I also love cooking - most recently I've been dipping my toe into
Indian and Ayurvedic traditions. I'm really excited by the notion
of food as medicine.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Reading Karl Ove.
Making film; living the freelance, feast-or-famine dream, which
I also work part-time building furniture and doing light carpentry.
It helps bring in a few bucks, but mostly it's for fun, designing
and building hardwood furniture, cabinetry, lamps, etc.
Riding motorcycles or bicycles, training for my first marathon,
meeting new people, breaking bad habits, moving on.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Adobe Premiere (ha, I used to put Final Cut Pro in this category;
now that shit's for the birds).
Listening. Reading all day. Getting my ya-yas out with a good run
or a MTB ride.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't have it in me to bullshit - it's simply not worth the

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I could do without this question.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- motorcycles (as in: where can i ride it next)
- bicycles (mostly just when will i get to mtb ride next)
- tattoos (as in: what will the next one be)
- semantics (as in: why people say things like 'atm machine' and 'a
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
cooking, or eating, or at a show, or out for a run, or watching a

sleeping, or doing any other typical Friday night activity ;)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Lately I've been making forays into the world of polyamory, but I
know that it probably won't be my scene forever.
