My self-summary
Hello my name is Andrew and I'm new to the area. I recently graduated from Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan), and just moved to MD about a month ago. I'm an aspiring academic who loves queer theory, Deleuze, and Jasbir Puar.
What I’m doing with my life
I was a high school debate coach, but now have reexamined my priorities. I'm taking this next year as a time to breath and get ready to apply for grad school.
I’m really good at
1. Settlers of Catan
2. Mario Party 3
3. Trivia
4. Making homemade Macaroni and Cheese
5. Formulating Lists
The first things people usually notice about me
When you're 6'6, that's the only feature people notice about you.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books:
Honestly, I never read fiction books anymore. I did so much reading for debate, personal academic research, and school that I really don't like to read fiction anymore. I can't explain why. Mostly I read critical theory and philosophy books. Recently I've been on a queer theory binge, so I've been reading the works of Lauren Berlant and Mel Chen.

I've recently started get into cinema because it's a refraction of how we see the world, and gesture the virtual that we want to become reality. I'm currently going on a binge of good cinema, and I could really use some suggestions.

I love watching terrible TV from the 90s on Netflix. Daria is hands down my favorite TV show.

I love music and I couldn't imagine living my life without an iPod. I mostly like electro-pop and and electronic music. My current jams are: Hilary Duff, Joseph Birdsong, Vanbot, Fergie (The Dutchess is timeless), Robyn, Uffie, Dragonette, La Roux, Dev, Marina and the Diamonds, Alex Winston, Betty Who, Sia, Dresses, FEMM, Florrie, Charli XCX (everything, but sucker), Little Boots, Perfume, and Röyksopp.
The six things I could never do without
1. My family
2. N64
3. iPhone
4. Making lists
5. My Macbook Pro
6. A nice cardigan.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future. Pretty much the standard stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
On most weekends I find myself either hanging out with friends or reading a good book (yes, I was that socially awkward kid that would rather read than talk to other children, and yes we do understand how to talk with other people).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm socially awkward.
