My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
You better believe I own purple pants. Two pair.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work with healthcare IT systems during the day - and sometimes at night too. Otherwise I try to enjoy music, friends, and probably too many computer-based distractions. Although I watch a bit of TV - mostly select series on netflix and the occasional 'how it's made' marathon after a particularly filling dinner - the largest share of my idle time is spent gaming. I prefer games with an exploration/creative lean... But enjoy all kinds. My job is fulfilling, frustrating, and fascinating - to me anyhow - and it's keeping me crazy busy lately. But there is always time for meals - or coffee... Lots of coffee.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm told I can be a good singer - I'll get on stage regardless of whether that rings true. I visit an open mic at least once a week - I love playing guitar and I'll learn to play the piano one day or die trying - but I haven't written anything in ages. It's on my to-do list. Right after 'start a to-do list'. I'm also fantastic at being cynical and sarcastic; although I do try to keep it positive... Oh, I can operate a variety of kitchen, laundry, maintenance, and cleaning equipment. I don't think these are exceptional qualities, but they seem worth mentioning.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My voice, pretty often - spoken I mean... I'm not singing all of the time. I've been told radio wouldn't be a bad move if I needed a career change - although you never know whether someone is just suggesting you're not looking so hot lately. I'm also a competent yet out-of-practice cook who tries to eat well... On the less flattering side, I don't have the straightest, whitest, healthiest teeth around - if that sort of thing is a deal breaker, jog on. I'd rather be honest about this than disappoint - but it's also something I'm a little sensitive about and have put considerable time and money into, so yeah... On the bright side, I have no problem going to the dentist any longer - pain don't hurt - and if you have kids, I can serve as an object lesson on the dangers of neglect.

This is a broad set of topics... Here, I'll do two passes - Kurt Vonnegut, Quentin Tarantino, Joss Whedon, Thom Yorke, and Sriracha hot sauce. Douglas Adams, Wes Anderson, David Cross, Regina Spektor, and iron chef Masahru Morimoto.

Additional - music I'm currently in love with:
Fiona Apple
Spoon
Ok Go
Chance the Rapper
Childish Gambino
Aesop Rock and his many side projects, most importantly, The Uncluded
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1 - My iPhone. That's like six things right there.
2 - Good friends. Schmaltzy, but true.
3 - A guitar. Any one would do, really.
4 - A toolkit. Eventually, I'll need to take SOMETHING apart.
5 - Feminism
6 - Coffee. I probably could do without that - but why would I want to?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to spend less time thinking about things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually dinner with a friend, quiet night... Nothing special. Music gets me out more than anything else - either to play or support a local band... Occasionally I'll catch a national act.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a bit shy... Also I am fantastically bad at driving a manual transmission. I've also have abstained completely from drinking for over six years now- but I don't judge others on their choices, and have no problem hanging out at bars/clubs - so long as there is still cogent conversation and not drinking competitions...
