My self-summary
I like learning stuff, playing guitar/piano, singing. I like to travel and explore, reading, staying in shape, the internet. I dislike arguments based around people defining words in strange ways. I like dry and referential humor, and using phrases I learned from The Wire.

I enjoy stories, if I come across a book/show/manga/comic that catches my attention I must consume it as quickly as possible. This has been devastating to my productivity at times. I can get into most any genre of things as long as it's well thought out/written/acted...one time I was forced in to watching Runaway Bride and I've never gotten over it. I will never forgive Stephen King for the degeneration / implosion of the Dark Tower series.

I get excited easily about things, and enjoy people with a sense of humor. I'm a pretty big nerd, and I like people who like things.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a researcher. I'm in the middle of my PhD, and thoroughly enjoy the grad student life, running my own research agenda and the such.
I’m really good at
having fun on a night out. This can lead to getting into situations...it's not a lack of common sense per say, unless part of common sense is a willingness to listen to common sense.
The first things people usually notice about me
I laugh very easily. Things are usually quite amusing in one way or another, if no one's laughing at your/my joke then I'll laugh because failed jokes are funny. I get into trouble for laughing in the situation instead of later, looking back on it. Also when my brother gets hurt, effectively regardless of the level of injury, that shit is hilarious.

One time when we were under 10 he was up on my mom's shoulders as she walked through a doorway, he smoked his head and I thought I was going to die laughing.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to better interact with people and how things flow together. I like systems with lots of parts that operate smoothly, and trying to understand them.
I feel like I'm perpetually in a state of mid-life crisis. I am hopeful, however, that regardless I'll live past my mid 50s.
On a typical Friday night I am
reading, watching shows or a movie, walking around, out dancing (I very much enjoy dancing), drinking with friends, lots of things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Keanu Reeves is my favorite actor and I have a developed a strong argument on his behalf, through years of defending those who would besmirch his genius with such paltry facts like "he is terrible at acting".

Also I am to date convinced that the Nicholas Cage remake of "The Wicker Man" was _actually_ a story about his slow descent into madness inside the walls of an insane asylum. Yes I have seen the original. Yes I am still convinced of this.
