My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am an electrical engineer. I love drinking beer. I have two guitars, but they are mostly aspirational. Loud stereos are important to me.

I enjoy my job, but it is not nearly as important as, well, everything else. Especially bacon. Anyway, I write code for a living.

I sing in the shower, and I am not sorry that I am not sorry about that.

I live in Colorado, so an appreciation of the outdoors is helpful, but I will be honest: I am glad I can drive into the mountains and experience nature, but I just rarely choose to do so. Maybe I am complacent, but I really enjoy spending time in the city. Putting on a suit and drinking something with gin in it is part of my ideal night out.

I have been fortunate enough to have had a number of good relationships in my past. As a result, I have a pretty good handle on what I'm looking for in a relationship. I've learned the value of kindness and sympathy as traits in a partner. My life is good, and I would rather be alone than be in a relationship just to avoid loneliness. There's no point in being with someone if you aren't passionate about that person. I like to think that I've learned some things from my experiences. Expect quiet moments and grand gestures.

Woah, that got serious. Let's take it down a notch. I enjoy conversation, so drop me a line.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Enjoying it. I have a good job in a beautiful state. My family lives here, and so do my best friends. Most importantly, though, all my favorite beers live here. Sometimes, I like to have a night on the town with them.

I really enjoy singing, so I've recently joined a choir again after a couple of years away.

Everyone seems to be getting married, so I spend a lot of my time at weddings. Not complaining...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Fixing things. Well, breaking them, and then fixing them. Cars, stereos, hearts...

Also, bar trivia. And my job. Holding hands.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My deep, sonorous bass* voice. Unless I am excited about something (likely), in which case my voice is less likely to cause earthquakes. Seriously, though, people tell me I have a nice voice.

*will imitate Freddie Mercury as required, but I will provide warning first so you can cover your ears.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite book is The Golden Compass, and that's not because I am a 14-year-old. Other favorites: Anna Karenina, American Gods, and Harry Potter, of course.

As for movies, I prefer gin...err, I mean, Casablanca. Citizen Kane, too, but I also think Star Wars is totally awesome. I try to watch The Lord of the Rings trilogy once a year, although my fake hobbit feet are currently being repaired. (Luckily, I still have working elf ears.) Three movies make me cry: Gladiator, Apollo 13, and My Dog Skip. Oh, and Up!. Okay, four.

The Americans is my favorite show currently in production, followed by Mad Men. Like most other humans, I also like The Wire, Arrested Development, Scrubs!, Friday Night Lights, and plenty of others. What, you didn't think I actually studied in college, did you?

If you don't know My Morning Jacket, I will fix that for you. They are my favorite band, probably. I also like The Beatles (...), Ryan Adams, Dawes, Justin Timberlake, Jackson Browne, The Magnetic Fields, and...well, I have a whole stack of CDs here. Too many to list. Taylor Swift.

I will eat anything. I hope it's Indian, though. Quiz: butter chicken, or chicken tikka masala?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Milk: favorite drink
A good razor: I really, really enjoy shaving
My car: she's only 6 months old, so she needs to see the world
A loud stereo: self-explanatory
Sunglasses: Colorado is bright
Phone: yo, hit me up on my mobile
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Food. I am hungry all the time, but I often cannot bring myself to go to the grocery store. This is a bit of a character flaw. Talk about lazy...

Also, dogs. I am allergic to some of them, but I don't care. I still want one. It would be mine and I would love it.

Physics. Basically everything can be explained by physics. I think about how much energy various things cost all the time. It's a compulsion.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Could go either way. Sometimes I feel like going out with my friends and drinking, although that gets harder to do as everyone gets older, for mysterious reasons related to the aging process. Every once in a while I will go out in LoDo. Some mistakes are fun to make, although all that hair gel is hard to get out.

I am equally content staying in with someone I like and watching good (or bad) movies.

Finally, games: Catan, Dominion, Munchkin. I love them all.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I think I would be a better bartender than engineer.

You don't mind someone who gets tongue-tied every once in a while. If I am having a good conversation, my tongue will often fall behind my thoughts, and new words will get invented. Maybe you should do the talking - it's safer that way.
