My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Looking for someone to go out with and see if things click. If it leads to something, great. I enjoy live music, movies, coffee and walks in the park and intelligent, sometimes deep conversation on a wide range of issues. I'll talk politics and spirituality, but I don't see the point in getting into arguments over them. Open-mindedness and the appreciation of proper grammar and five-dollar words are a plus.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working to improve myself while I am between careers (though in this case that does NOT mean unemployed!)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening. Smiling. Being happy in the face of unpleasant circumstances. Pretty good at singing.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told smile, eyes and beard. And also something ineffable.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Most anything that wasn't created solely with a computer and samples from other artists, or that makes my ears bleed. I am a child of and a fan of the 80's. So artists like Duran Duran are a good time for me. Also love Rush, Pink Floyd and many other classic and progressive rock bands. Mumford and Sons are freakin' awesome. County is pretty hit and miss with me, but the 90's were a pretty good decade for it.

1. The Shawshank Redemption
2. Pretty much everything else, including: The Princess Bride, Star Wars (Episode V is especially good, the prequel movies, meh), most of the Star Trek movies (yes, I'm a nerd), most of the John Hughes movies from the 80's, The Hunt for Red October, Bye Bye Love, Aliens...pretty much an endless list...

Anything by Douglas Adams, RIP; I've read all of the WoT series written by Robert Jordan. Haven't gotten to the first Sanderson book yet. Currently reading "The Count of Monte Cristo" on my ereader. Malcolm Gladwell is great and so is Gregg Easterbrook for non-fiction.

If I could live on steak and dark chocolate (and maybe bacon) I'd certainly give it a try. Making an effort to eat better and cook more at home and drink less pop and avoid refined/processed foods, but I don't go crazy about it. I also love Mexican and Italian and Vietnamese and BBQ and I love spicy food and seasonings.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life, the universe and everything. What makes relationships work and what makes them fail. The existence of forces we cannot understand or even detect. And mostly, how to be happy.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working, checking out some live music, watching a movie, having a couple drinks with friends.

You might enjoy casual conversation over dinner or coffee or check out some live music or theater. Now that it's baseball season again, taking in a Wingnuts game or hang out at the local watering hole.
