My self-summary
I like flat ontologies which instills a certain sense of humility which in turn makes me kind of flippant. Yet I also care about mindfulness and stuff so I take things seriously for aesthetic purposes. Mostly I'm a philosophical mess. (See, I'm being flippant again.)

Animal rights and vegetarianism* are important to me, but I'm not a big jerk about it. Feminism and social justice (slash human rights in general) are also important to me, and I can be a jerk about it.

* I am strictly vegetarian, and mostly vegan.

Misc:
My aunt and I have a running joke that we're going to get matching tattoos of the International Phonetic Alphabet transcription of the sound of a box turtle mating. Half of me hopes it happens. I'm probably going to get a bunch of triangles or something instead.

Elsewhere:
I semi-actively tweet, write articles and stories on my blog, keep a "visual portfolio" (lol) at flickr, and put things I made or like on tumblr.

What I’m doing with my life
Things I made recently
• I executed a keyboard. I have a fundamental tension with technology.
• 2012 X Games Hog Calling Championship video
• The cover photo for the Xiu Xiu 7" 'Daphny'

General
Since I graduated from college, I have done something different each year. I wrote fiction and magazine articles, co-founded a company and went through Y Combinator, helped to start an internet research group, non-profit consulted, and worked on an art game.

I recently joined DIY, a self-directed education platform for kids. The pedagogy and sociology of the project are progressive and spot-on. Someday soon I'll be able to say more about it; in the mean time I'll say that it is inspiring to work on something I would want my (hypothetical) children to have.

In my free time, I continue to write, to learn to create visual art, and to practice music.

I’m really good at
Shooting myself in the foot. Then getting lead-poisoning from putting my bullet-ridden foot in my mouth.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
What defines and deforms culture, what is necessary to prepare a society for innovations such as civil rights or animal rights, if there is a deterministic trajectory of society and whether that trajectory is “good”.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
• Me (sic) and depression have an on-and-off again relationship. But I'll never make it your problem and I don't have baggage, I promise.

• I'm glad that people in the Bay Area aren't bound to binaries, because I'm chafed by traditional definitions of maleness and straightness.

You're kind and strong and smart and have things going on in your life. You make things for reasons other than money. You want to go on a library date. You want to light candles and listen to music in the dark. You want to walk/hike/ride bikes then have a picnic.
