My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'd like to pitch a sitcom; a 38 year old ex-actor decides to go back to school to get a masters in special education. He attends The University of Illinois at Chicago and lives in a frat house on The University of Chicago campus. We follow his wacky adventures teaching old men with Dyslexia to read, observing hilarious and awesome and charming kids with special needs, getting stoned and being stupid and generally being an odd but lovable novelty among the young men he lives with.

Yes. That's me.

This will be my second masters, by the way. The first is in acting. I just enjoy bragging about that. I'm very proud of it. This dumb kid with ADD and Dyscalculia will have multiple advanced degrees!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
School and school work. Finally reaching an age-appropriate level of maturity while, ironically, living a younger lifestyle than ever before. Collecting art prints for my room (currently filled with Magritte, Dali, Ryden and Nara). Working out. Attempting to date.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Acting, teaching, being understanding and compassionate, laughing at myself and generally being a sweetheart (most of the time), helping people with special needs, being polite and often even generous to and towards homeless people.
The first things people usually notice about me

Once they find out I'm 38 it's the fact that I look ridiculously young for my age, thank you very much. However, I must admit, I think I'm starting to look older when I look at the photos I've included here but people keep telling me they thought I was in my late twenties. I don't really see it but there it is.

The musics - Skrillex was by far the best electronic music show I've ever attended. Granted, I haven't seen a ton of electronic music. Just Rusko, Caspa, AJ Slater, Bass Nector . . . yeah, I think that's it. Savages is the greatest rock and roll band in the world right now. Godspeed You Black Emperor is my favorite band overall. Sonic Youth is my favorite rock and roll band and the old favorites from my youth who will forever hold a special place in my heart are PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Kristin Hersh and Mike Patton. I love electronic music as well (Flux Pavilion, Knife Party, The Knife, Delta Heavy, Caspa and Rusko all come to mind) A lot of strange/experimental stuff (John Zorn, Annie Gosfield, Sonic Youth's SYR series, etc.) Let's see . . . if I put itunes on shuffle the first ten things that happen are; The Breeders, Bis, Outkast, Massive Attack, The Red Krayola, Kid Koala, Slayer, Heart, Sugar and Gary Numan. I tend to tell people that if it's noisy and annoying I'll probably like it. Oh, and I suppose Beats Antique could be considered elctronica to a great extent and I've seen them as well.

The books - The Satanic Bible by Anton Lavey is a hoot. After years of avoiding it, thinking it was all about corny, cliche super-hero crap, I've grown to LOVE graphic novels. That's all I read lately. My favorites so far are Daniel Clowes' Daniel Boring, Will Eisner's The Contract With God Trilogy, Osamu Tezuka's Buddha, the graphic novel adaptation of Battle Royale and Dennis Cooper/Keith Mayerson's Horror Hospital Unplugged. Just finished Will Eisner's Minor Miracles. As far as regular 'ol authors go, we're talkin' Irvine Welsh, Bukowski, Burroughs, Henry Miller - they're the first that pop to mind.

The movies - Harmony Korine! Werner Herzog! David Lynch! Todd Solondz! Paul Thomas Anderson! Stanley Kubrick! Recently saw Koyaanisqatsi and if you care at all about film you should too. Recently re-watched Barton Fink and Fargo, confirming my belief that they are the Coen Brother's best. Oh, and then there's Ichi the Killer and Cold Fish and a million other violent Japanese films that rule

The Foods - Standard, American, breakfast foods are my favorite foods. My latest favorite place for breakfast is West Town Bakery and Diner. I'm also always wondering what else I might try putting Nutella and/or peanut butter on - lately it's waffles and pancakes.

The Art - Pop Surrealism! Yosuke Ueno! Mark Ryden! Haoto Natori! Francis Bacon!

Television Programs - Breaking Bad, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Tim and Eric - Awesome Show Great Job!, Frisky Dingo, Eastbound and Down, The L Word, Twin Peaks, 30 Rock, Louie, The Office, American Horror Story, Off the Air, Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Check It Out with Dr. Steve Brule (jesus christ, this last season was dark, wasn't it!?)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I could do without everything but food, technically, but here are the things I like the most (besides sex and friends. Everybody likes sex and friends. Does it really need to be mentioned?)

My record player
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
how my future is finally certain.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going to bed early so I can get up the next morning around 5 or 6am and get to work on homework! Would you like to give me an excuse to actually go out? That would be sweet.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia almost every day. I fall asleep to it. I can't go to bed until I watch at least two episodes. I don't know what the hell it is about that stupid show . . . It just never stops being funny to me!

Also, I really wish that going back and re-answering questions wasn't such an arduous task here on OKC because so many of them I answered two years ago and now I'm just plain embarrassed. I was sort of a different person then. So, if any of my comments or answers make me look like a dick . . . um . . . I swear I'm not anymore??

You are cool with my lifestyle. I live a life that some find unbecoming a man my age and if you are among those people: you don't know me so please fuck off.

Eh. Shit. All I can think about is all the work I have! I'm going to get back to researching the relationship between learning disabilities and creativity as indicated by The Torrance Test of Creative Thinking now. Bye.
