My self-summary
hellooow (presumably) single ladies, my name's Jackson. A warm-hearted, friendly, yet straight shooting/no-nonsense sort, with a bit of a penchant for dry, acerbic wit/humor. Currently working in HR Management/training in the contact centre world, which I love.. I am fortunate enough to work with a great group of people, in a nurturing environment.

On my weekend's and during spare time, I love to make the most of what our brilliant, multifaceted city has to offer; whether it's out at a local gig at one of the many great pubs around, band rehearsal (music has always hit the right 'note' here), digging for more records/vinyl, a relaxed bar/pub (super late night's are largely behind me - cue the grandpa jibes..), great cafes/coffee, a day trip out somewhere scenic (ocean and/or greenery is good for the soul), flea markets, cheering my blue baggers on, or just taking time to enjoy the simple things (it's important!).. a stroll, nap, sunshine, coffee etc.

Keep dancin' !
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying it.. working it full-time, attempting to make music (instrumental style), in my lunch hour..
I’m really good at
- listening
- spending too much time on discogs
- observing
- having a sound knowledge of music
- spelling & verbose wordplay (scrabble is a favourite here)
- Curating awesome party music
- playing councillor to family/friends
The first things people usually notice about me
my specs (glasses) most probably, facial hair?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Telly? // Black Books, IT Crowd, Breaking Bad, Q&A, Four Corners, Australian Story, n.. most stuff on ABC/SBS. Insight, Catalyst, Utopia, SBS on demand.
Film wise? Love arthouse/independent stuff, foreign films/doco's. A few that recently grabbed me: Amy, Iris, Birdman.

Food? yes please! // Italian, Mehican, Thai, Vietnamese, Jap... Recently began making Sushi.. dumplings are a hit,

Music, I hear? // Just some goodness.. Massive Attack, The Pixies, The Stone Roses, Led Zeppelin, Portishead, You Am I, Obligatory 60s stuff (beatles, stones, who etc), Miles Davis, Coltrane, Nick Drake/Cave, Fairport Convention..beastie boys, phillip glass.
Lots of local good stuff too (HTRK, Beaches, Melb Ska Orchestra...)
The six things I could never do without
earl gray/green tea/good coffee
good food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
family, friends, personality defects, existential musings, music - records to purchase.
On a typical Friday night I am
typically conflicted as to whether to enjoy a quiet few somewhere, or enjoy a quiet night in. Quite possibly out at one of the many 'institutional' music venues around.. the tote, the old bar etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
won't be over the internet..
You should message me if
you dig any of the above? You share a passion for music/creativity. You feel like it. You've more than a healthy cynical streak..
