My self-summary
I'm a lefty. Also, I'm not from here originally (Chicago). I try to bring as little bullshit to the equation as possible. In its place, I try to bring humor and bewonderment. I laugh often, without regard for much of anything. Given the opportunity, I would mess with Texas.

My hair has grown long. I should get a picture up here to prove it, because it's not bad. If I was going to sneak into a band, I could probably get on stage with Minus the Bear for a couple songs with a triangle.

Your judgment was likely made before you even read this text. Whether you follow or work counter to those impulses is up to you more than me. Am I worth it? You bet. All that and more. And a little less.

Integrity: I've got it, along with a bunch of other things, including a penchant for making really inappropriate jokes in my head, and then voicing them while already knowing I might get punched. Once by my mom.

Why do so many mention Scrabble? I'm up for it, sure, but what about Sorry, Payday, Risk? Is it just the satisfying feeling of the tiles in your fingers? -- I've been clued into the Scrabble thing by the lovely, clever, and helpful ComelyBear.

After more research on the subject, I might be better described as an axiological atheist. I think people are capable of infinite wonders.

I still hold a general contempt for religion, as at best it is wrestled into being a positive force, but it simply does not fit me as well to label myself an atheist. Not sure why you needed to know this, but now you do.

I am able, stable, and reasonable.

What I’m doing with my life
Writing with regular and irregular frequency.

Paying the rent via commute, and then currently working on projects that are... hopeful. Some will involve cartoons if I can help it. Still a lot of work to do.

Two of my books can be found in comic shops that don't check their inventory regularly.

Living by this: "If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong."
I’m really good at
a) finding the comedy in tragedy.
and
b) letting my hair grow.
and
c) answering to nicknames and swear words.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm able to flip the switch from childlike wonder to serious to inspired and productive. Yes, the switch has 3 settings. And one of the settings is to two things.

Also, I think the films of Peter Weir don't get enough respect as a whole body of work.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I could really do without people who say "Don't take yourself too seriously." without giving any context or scale to base how serious is appropriate for one's self in their estimation. Take yourselves seriously. Please. It might lead to less hilarious moments captured by your friends' camera-phones, but there's also that chance that it somehow leads to you doing something wonderful that actually matters.

Of course I don't keep this perspective private. There simply didn't seem to be an appropriate section for it.

Also:
I think Portal 2 is a work of art.

You should message me if
you're basically an adult version of Daria;

or...

you've got got sass to spare (maybe redundant, but some people might not know who Daria is, and maybe shouldn't be weeded out for that ignorance);

or...

you are that person that essentially has everyone depending on them (caretaker-type), but doesn't have the person that you depend on, which would be me as I'm pretty good at that;

or...

if you laughed at something in the profile and feel bad about it. Or alternately, you don't feel bad about it;

or...

you enjoy flirtations, of which I am a rather capable partner.
