My self-summary
My life is a sine wave and it's my job to build asymptotes in the right places at the right times. That being said, I am terrible at math.

Quirky, nerdy, science-y type with unrivaled eccentricities. Big dumb heart that I blame for most of my problems. Full of hubris and/or shit on many occasions, but it's all part of my charm (I AM charming, aren't I?). Stints of extreme, crippling self-consciousness come and go. INFJ, so they say.

I look like a child. No one believes I'm 26.

I am intelligent.

I have the cutest Wisconsin accent. If you're into that.

Relevancy isn't my strong suit.

I am aware of the fact that I use Instagram as frequently as my little sister does.

I say some shit.
What I’m doing with my life
Waiting for the American Gods HBO series to come out.

No, but for real:

Working full time in a lab and making my paper. Just paying off school debt while I calculate my next jump ("Mr. Gaeta, spin up the FTL!").

In the long term, I'll eventually go back to school but I don't know exactly what for yet. The possibilities include some kind of advanced science degree (I currently hold a B.S. in Microbiology from UW) or some form of certification for any of the following: comic art, English with an emphasis on creative writing, business, sound engineering, mechanics...the list goes on.

Almost caught up with A Song of Ice and Fire. With the exception of A Game of Thrones to A Clash of Kings, I read the entire series (to date) uninterrupted. Needless to say, it has been a journey, and I am looking forward to a break. Yes, I had to include this in the "What I'm doing with my life" section, as it has unfortunately wasted a significant portion of my young adult life.
I’m really good at
the things I set my mind to. Which includes making people think I'm good at harmonica.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Lots of favorites. Ha here's a few:

Books and Authors: Douglas Adams, Ray Bradbury, We, White Noise, Animal Farm, Ursula K. Le Guin, Tolkien, Cat's Cradle, Star Wars books (don't judge), The Lives of a Cell, H.P. Lovecraft, the A Song of Ice and Fire series, All Quiet on the Western Front, Frankenstein, American Gods, books on comics theory (Scott McCloud, etc.)

Comics and Artists/Authors: The Sandman, Akira, Batman: Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, American Splendor, Jhonen Vasquez, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Blankets, Jeffrey Brown, Scott Pilgrim, Barefoot Gen, Saga, Ōoku, Fun Home, Maus

♫ (lately): (Favorite song atm: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEJdQD-9psU) Chvrches, Weatherbox, Télépopmusik, The Glitch Mob, Cherub, Afrobeta, MSTRKRFT, Two Door Cinema Club, Phoenix, Discovery, Passion Pit, Crystal Castles, Justin Townes Earle, The Temper Trap, Miike Snow, Lana Del Rey (god, marry me, girl), The Kooks, The Whitest Boy Alive, Of Monsters and Men, The Lumineers, Micatone, Just Jack, M83, Trampled by Turtles, '60s to '90s country stuff, '50s music, Washed Out, and lots more

Shows: Breaking Bad, Firefly, Game of Thrones, The Office, Wilfred, Scrubs, Lost, BSG, Party Down, Workaholics, King of the Hill, Futurama, Legends of the Hidden Temple (it's fun to make fun of the kids)

Movies: The regular sci-fi fan library, I suppose, and a slew of random others. I really like animation and tend to favor it over live action (call it what you want). Compared to most people I haven't seen that many movies, something I'm trying to work on.

Food: steak, cheese (all of it - blue, gorgonzola, brie, chevre, gouda, parmesan, mozzarella, good ol' chedda), sushi, pub food, pizza, Gardetto's, coffee, amber to dark beer, red wine, bourbon
The six things I could never do without
1. My homies and fam
2. A book
3. Music while driving
4. "It's a trap!"
5. A zen zone
6. The notion that things will work out
---
7. Bacon
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my secret, evil plan to escape to the west coast.
On a typical Friday night I am
relishing the fact that I don't have to be at work in the morning. Everything else is variable.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am not the most assertive person in the world when it comes to pursuing someone. It's not that I'm disinterested, it's that I just don't know how to start. And I suppose if I'm being totally honest, a little fearful of rejection. So most oft I do nothing. C'est la vie.

I can take things a little too seriously. To work against this seems to be my life goal.

To be clear, as far as relationships go, I am looking for "the last one." However, don't automatically assume I'm going to automatically assume that the next person I date is this person.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–28
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You don't mind a little neurosis.

If you are an artist and looking to collaborate, please message me! I know this is OKCupid but rest assured, I won't automatically "girlfriendzone" you if you message me. Seeking musicians, writers, and visual artists. Inquire within! :D

"Pull me under your weather patterns, your cold fronts, and the rain, don't matter. Because a sunburn's what I'm needing." Yeah, I just quoted Something Corporate. What are you going to do about it?
