I am honorable, mathematical, and helpful.

My Self-Summary

I'm a middle school Mathematics teacher in a Baltimore City public school. Before that, I was a waiter for about 5 months, and before that I was a union political organizer, and before that, I was a grad student teaching assistant at UW-Madison for a year. I enjoy reading pretty much anything. I also enjoy watching Family Guy, Project Runway, Top Chef, anime, and various DVDs. In addition, I like to do crossword puzzles and work on my computer. And sometimes I hang out with friends, though not as often as I'd like to because I work too damn hard.

What I’m doing with my life

Teaching mathematics to urban youth and attempting to have a social life on the side.

I’m really good at

Well, I like to think that I'm good at math and at teaching, considering that's what I do with my life. I'm also handy with computer and other technology troubleshooting. I am a very logical thinker and planner.

The first things people usually notice about me

I do have very nice blue eyes and a cute face. I'm a little on the hefty side, and being a teacher hasn't helped because I've had no time to do anything about it. However, with the help (OK, intervention) of my friends, I am trying to have a more stylish wardrobe.

Rowling, Abarat series - Clive Barker, Diamond Age - Neal Stephenson, Snow Crash - Neal Stephenson, Vorkosigan series - Lois McMaster Bujold, Otherland series - Tad Williams, Ender series - Orson Scott Card, e - Matthew Beaumont, Chrestomanci series - Diana Wynne Jones, Young Wizards series - Diane Duane, Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid - Douglas Hofstadter, Stranger in a Strange Land - Robert Heinlein, Walden Two - B.F. 1) My computer 2) The internet 3) My glasses/contacts 4) My books 5) My wallet 6) My watch

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I need to do for work the next day. How to make Math interesting to middle schoolers. The fact that I've never really had a love/dating life to speak of.

On a typical Friday night I am

Maybe at a bar celebrating the weekend, maybe hanging out at a friend's house, possibly at the theatre watching a play, probably writing lesson plans that were due at 5:00, but most likely just doing nothing important on the computer or watching TV.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Well, let's just be upfront and put it out there. I've never slept with a guy. Be gentle :)

You should message me if

...you're serious about going on a date/meeting up with me, and you are a guy in the age range of 22-35 and in the Baltimore area.
