I am fun, compassionate, and mature.

My Self-Summary

As the three adjectives state...

I'm fun, compassionate and mature.

I'm really liberal, open minded, accepting, and understanding.

I value expressions such as equality, peace, love, joy and acceptance.

I love to joke and laugh and have a good time. I like to keep things light-hearted unless we're having a heart-to-heart (I love those, by the way). I'm usually sarcastic but in a fun way.

I'm easy to talk to, social and outgoing, and I love meeting new people.

I'm really attracted to guys who treat all people kindly and respectfully. I like those who are confident, but not conceited. Passionate but not self-righteous, mature but still know how to let loose and have a good time. Quick wit and intellect catches my eye.

Here's a list of things I'm into...
social justice, music (playing guitar, singing, playing piano, recording), writing (songs, movie scripts, books, short stories), film, video games (Smash Bros.) reading, volleyball, tennis and/or football with friends, social-political activism, community service, active listening and more. I also enjoy meditating, exploring my spirituality and my own personal beliefs.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a student at UNT, majoring in Sociology, minoring in Spanish.

Graduating in either May or August 2010 - On time - though I don't know how that happened.

Hopefully going to graduate school to get my Masters (maybe Ph.D.) in Sociology - then to Law School - that is, unless my music/film career takes off.

I want to have a career in music performance, production and recording (I play guitar, sing and write songs), writing screenplays, directing and producing films, acting, and more. I want to have my own talk show someday. I'd also want to become a lawyer for civil rights; standing up for those who have fallen victim to police brutality, government/police abuse of power, etc. Seeing people get screwed over drives me passionately crazy - it pisses me off, but in a "I want to do something about that" way. I want to be of help for those who feel helpless in legal situations.

I’m really good at

I think I'm pretty good at music and writing
being social/out-going
lightening up the mood
helping people step outside themselves for brief moments
listening
understanding people
sociological topics (privilege, oppression, social justice)
inspiring
supporting
baking (I know, random)
blowing money - I could be a pro if it were a sport
fighting-type video games - I don't know why, just always had a natural talent for them

The first things people usually notice about me

my genuine smile
my compassionate eyes
my calming presence?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books:
New Earth, The Celestine Prophecy, The Secret, Rainbow Boys trilogy, The God Box, Earth to Tao, The Power of Now.

I read a lot of self-reflective books and gay fiction. I'm starting to read more social justice/instituational oppression/inequality geared material.

Music:
I'm very into mellow-acoustic stuff, indie artists, but I could pretty much listen to about anything - though I'm not a fan of country, and most rap/hip-hop.

TV:
When I make time for tv, I like to watch...
Veronica Mars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Brothers and Sisters, Ugly Betty, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, Family Guy, Drawn Together, Ninja Warrior

Movies:
I really enjoy great dramas, comedies, and horror. I really like everything, but those are probably my favorite - especially horror. I love a good (or even bad) horror movie. Zombies anyone?

Food:
Chinese Food - (crab wantons)
Mexican Food - everything
Sushi - i like cooked sushi - not a big fan of the actual raw fish ones, but I will still eat them every now and then.

I like anything really---except BBQ and Sea Food restaurants. I like sea food...but I'm usually not in the mood for sea food when I eat out....ever.

The six things I could never do without

1. Family/Friends
2. My 5 senses
3. My voice
4. My guitar
5. My compassionate heart
6. My self-esteem and self respect

I spend a lot of time thinking about

my spiritual beliefs
My love for the people in my life
world peace
equality
happiness
helping others
being a sucessful musican/filmmaker
wondering if I will become a lawyer
meeting a great guy

On a typical Friday night I am

most likely out at a bar with some friends or at someone's place hanging out.

If I stay in, I like cooking, watching movies, working on some writing projects or music, etc. But I'm very extroverted, so I like being around people.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I can't really think of something too private - you can ask me anything though.

You should message me if

you are funny/witty/sarcastic

we share similar interests

you find me interesting, cute, or something else like that

we share nothing in common but are curious to see if we'd click

if you are looking for someone to talk to and just want to say hey or something
