My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm James.

tl;dr: I love data, stuffed animals, sex, and humanity.

I just realised the OKC app ignores markup. Way to make me appear inept, OKC. Forever alone... Also, filing bug report -- aww, yea.

I'm a native Torontonian; I love living and being downtown in the St. Lawrence Market areaSouth Riverdale.

I love data -- analyse all the things! I'm fascinated by technology, data (OkTrends is awesome), and how they intersect with people. Information is powerful, it's overflowing everywhere, and there's so much insight still to be gained.

I have a love for beautiful, functional things. And stuffed animals. (You must at least be able to tolerate them. This would be a deal-breaker. Literally.)

Optimism guides me -- unending hope for humanity. Environmentalism, sex positivity, collaboration, philanthropy and restorative justice are all very Google-able values close to me.

I'm a self-proclaimed existentialist. My belief in individual liberty, fierce hope for the future, and faith in the potential of people are all rooted here, as well as the belief that we create our own meanings to and forge our own destinies.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as software developer and IT consultant full-time as a technical consultant.Software architecture, analytics, and automation -- that domain of stuffs. I love my work. Plus, working wherever I have Internet access is pretty awesome.

When not working, I'm working. <3 pro bono projects, hackathons, etc. Also playing piano. And cuddling with my bunny. Every day. Some times in public places.

I think I'm "making a difference"™ somehow. At least, doing so has made a difference in my life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- computering at all levels
- scanning Wikipedia articles
- swimming, cycling, DDRing
- playing computer games
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
- I smile and laugh a lot. (Being happy is fun!)
- I'm Google-ing everything, usually at the speed of conversation (averaging a few hundred daily searches)
- Chances are, I'm probably lugging around a laptop bag, possibly with my bunny (and a laptop) in it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books:
God's Debris, No Great Mischief, Heart of Darkness,

Movies:
Manufactured Landscapes, The Devil Wears Prada, Gattaca, The Fifth Element, anything from Miyazaki like Castle in the Sky, all those cute/clever Pixar movies like Up and Finding Nemo!

TV Shows:
CBC National, Star Trek: Voyager, Stargate Atlantis

Video Games:
Civilization, Mass Effect, all of those Sims titles (The Sims, SimCity, SimTower, etc.), indie games like Darwinia and Plants vs Zombies,

Music:
Sarah McLachlan, Kaskade, Joe Hisaishi, Rachmaninov

Food:
Most foods. Except ginger. Apparently, I don't like the taste of ginger, pickled or otherwise. And durian. I don't hate it -- I just wouldn't buy it. Ever.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Technology (i.e. phone, computer, Internet, etc.) forever and ever
- Stuffed animals (e.g. my bunny, not that taxidermy stuff; that stuff is too stiff)
- Great food
- A well-tuned bicycle
- Music. Everywhere. Always.
- A comfy bed
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
technology, my future, new places to explore and new things to learn, and how to be happier.

And why does OKC say I'm less romantic? Not true! =\
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working or volunteering until quite late, or going out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Edit: this is now a well-known public thing about me. I always sleep with my round fuzzy bunny. I love fuzzy stuffed animals. I even bring it to work or out with friends some times.

I'm very pro-nudity. It's not so much a fetish as it is a clothing option. E.g. I can wear jeans today or shorts or nothing -- until I need to go into the public, I guess.

I've intrigued you. Message away! There's nothing to lose, right?

Also, if we have a match or friend percentage exceeding 95% with at least several hundred common questions, we might be kindred spirits. (Or not. That's surprisingly also happened.) You must message. Yep. =)
