My Self-Summary
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
Editors
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Movies. Well. I like to think I'm a film buff, but its not remotely true. I studied early film at college, and made films myself briefly, but apart from Un Chien Andalou which I largely like only because there is a Pixies song about it and a couple of others, I mostly watch action stuff with fighting and fast cars. Oh dear!
Music. Right. The Pixies, Nirvana, REM, The Cure, pretty much any Delta Blues..music that makes me feel something. Um..Scott Walker (the good bits, mainly the Jacques Brel covers) Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, The Velvet Underground, The Breeders, PJ Harvey, and a little known alt country thing called The handsome family. And others of course. Too many to list.
Food? Well I have no food 'issues'. Pretty easy to please in that department. Can cook a bit, but its no fun cooking for one, so tend to subsist on pasta. When I can be arsed. Lots of toast-and-marmite-based meals otherwise. Really should eat better!
The six things I could never do without
Music
Moleskine notebook and proper inkpen with black ink (just in case..its a stereotype but it works)
Laptop
Black coffee
Alcohol (or access to same)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What my first novel will be about (yes yes I know)
Reconciling my urge to paint with the unnerving knowledge that painting roses is ultimately meaningless.
