My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
On my best days, I talk like an Aaron Sorkin character, and on my best dates, that's a good thing. On my worst days, I'm a bit more like someone out of a Dave Eggers novel. I'm on a mission to civilize! and quite aware of the futility of it all. If this sounds tedious and overwhelming, this will not work out. If this sounds witty and charming, let's do this thing.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in tech and run around the city with my husky. I'm working on a novel I will never finish, if you want to hear about it, and I play a mean Bright Eyes cover if the spirit moves me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I like to create beautiful things. You'd have to be in a certain world to understand how that applies to tens of thousands of lines of code, but it's all one - clean bold lines, be it on a canvas or in a sales deck - I like to compose and dream and then revel in the greatness of it. Sometimes it even is.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a talker. It's a nervous twitch that's gotten me far in life, but in a new situation or an awkward one, I go verbose chameleon faster than I'd like to admit. People's first impression of me is usually either, "Wow, he's really into [topic at hand]," or, "Wow, he really loves the sound of his own voice." I should really stop writing so much self-deprecating stuff on my profile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm sure I'm not the first one to talk about Arrested Development or any movie by Wes Anderson, so book-wise... You Shall Know Our Velocity, GEB... man, I sound kind of lame. Food - spicy - ideally Indian. Music - Bright Eyes, Ben Folds, Fun. - I'm feeling kind of typical right now. I'll get back when I remember something crazy about myself. Also, Newsroom - it's easy and probably a bit silly, but I like a good combative romance.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My Dog
Fresh Air
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the star-stuff that makes me me and my family my family and my friends my friends. There was a great This American Life awhile back about a guy who cloned his beloved bull and they were shocked to find that the new one - the cloned junior - was just... not the same. He wasn't bad, he was raised as identically as they could, but he was just not the same. I wonder how different I would have been if I'd been born 30 seconds later.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
hanging out with a few friends, watching something independent, or just reading. My work is very flexible, so my weekends and weekdays are all about the same.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I keep movie stubs. I have them since fifth grade. It's kind of creepy - unless it's AWESOME. I'll take the latter.

you are smart as hell, creative and a bit crazy and you want to meet someone who adores that.
