I spend a lot of my free time writing (I got my masters degree in it and am an aspiring screenwriter and novelist these days) and reading; I also write and play music mostly on the guitar or (much less adroitly) on the piano. When going out I like to do quasi-upscale things -- symphony, SAM, Town Hall, etc. -- but much of the time I just like lazing about. I like to be outside and do a fair amount of hiking and recently kind of learned to cross-country ski (recently meaning last winter) but I'm not one of those who climbs up the sheer sides of boulders or whatever; if that's you, you have my awe which I will project at you from the ground where I will be reading before drifting off into a nap.
I work with computers for a living and have a educational background in the fartsier arts (theatre and lit), but am fascinated by and love to read about science and history (and especially science history). I love cooking and spent a recent Saturday night at home listening to some podcasts and making marinara; it was a good evening.
I am currently petless and not thrilled with it. If you have a cat or a dog they will probably like me before you do; I play fingerstyle acoustic guitar and thus have semi-sharp fingernails on my right hand, which is a great way to make friends with fur-bearing mammals.
I love stories about and opinions on travel, life, childhood and have been known to share my own. If you have a story that you like telling, feel free to try it out on me.
