My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Consider this my cosmic welcome mat.

I am looking for a sexy guy in the vicinity of Chicago.

Sexy is:
Financially literate, pays taxes, has a savings account
Generous with time and affection
Citizen of the world
Ability to genuinely listen and shows an interest in others
Close to his mother
Holds political beliefs that benefit society rather than himself
Completed educational goals or pursuing them aggressively
Intentional with decisions
And facial hair. So sexy!

So what I have to offer in return- I exude joy. I celebrate life’s little victories. I am indulgent, and grateful, for delicious food, good wine, close friends, family, babies, laughing, sharing, music, dancing. I am an extrovert. I do not *need* my quiet time with a book, though on occasion that is nice.

Cooking is my zen. I maintain a garden to supply fresh organic ingredients. I own lots of cookbooks for inspiration. To me, food is also medicine. I’ve come to the conclusion that a whole foods diet consisting of mainly fruits, vegetables, beans/lentils, nuts and a little grassfed/pasture raised protein is the best way to prevent disease. I do not eat packaged food but I am not a food snob either, I love eating out and will eat what anyone puts in front of me when I'm a guest. I am looking for someone who makes healthy food choices and understands the impact of food on all the systems in the body.

As far activity level, I know many of you run marathons, rock climb, triathlons, and the like. I am active, but not an athlete. Curvy girl here! I run along the lake path in the summers to keep the curves in check. I've been doing hot yoga in the morning and love it! I enjoy laying on the beach and being in the water. Does that count as being active? I like my curves and I don’t plan on losing them, but an active partner is a must. And if you pushed me to work out a little harder, I wouldn't complain (too much.)

My next great love- travel. I have been very fortunate over the past few years. This year alone I’ve been to Hawaii 3 times, Alaska, Vegas, Istanbul, and a few other spots around the US. (I had a friend working at United and a good bit of miles saved, not a trust fund baby or anything) I love visiting islands the most. I like backpacking, and seek out places where English isn't the main language and Americans are few and far between. I scuba dive and one time I flew to Thailand because there was a whale shark migration. One surfaced in front of our boat and played with snorkelers for a good while- Aquariums and Sea Worlds are not necessary. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen dolphins in the wild, ugh so sick of them! jk

Ok so I think I’ve summed up my major lifestyle choices. Foodie, outdoorsy (for a Chicagoian, not like Portland outdoorsy), and shark lover. There is so much more, like I was born in Pittsburgh and I don’t miss Steelers games. The rest you’ll have to find out on your own, if interested.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Every day I'm hustlin', every day I'm hustlin' what it feels like. I'm highly educated. I'm not even going to say what I do, you'll go making all kinds of assumptions that are likely not true.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
According to the personality test, I am an ESTJ, which means I'm extroverted, rational, logical, systematic, and detail oriented (can't you tell by this profile?!) I put forth a lot of effort into anything I do, abide by traditions, and am very committed in relationships. ESTJ's are enthusiastic and witty. Our weakness is putting logic above emotional sensitivity, and I can be impatient with those I believe are inefficient or sloppy. Yep, so there I am. Decide if you can deal with that :p
The first things people usually notice about me

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I'm not really into fiction. I enjoy non-fiction because there are too many people, places, and theories to learn about. On my reading list right now is: Coconut Oil Miracle, Monique and the Mango Rains, Eat Pray Love, Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain, Where Flavor was Born (cookbook/travelogue on the Indian spice trail), and Nelson Mandela's Long Walk to Freedom.

Movies: I like comedies, documentaries, animation, drama. Not so big on uber violent action flicks or scary scary horror movies.

TV Shows: On DVR is Top Chef, Project Runway, Colbert, House Hunters International, No Reservations, Big Bang Theory, Millionaire Matchmaker...ok I like to zone out, don't judge!

Music: Cee-Lo, Justice, Basement Jaxx, Gotan Project, Mr. Scruff, Sister Nancy, Thievery Corporation, Ian Pooley, Jamiroquai, Stephen Marley (any Marley really), Beats Antique, Groove Armada, Matisyahu, Joao Gilberto, James Brown... so, jam by my side?

Food: Indian, Mexican, Thai, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Middle Eastern, French....I like it all.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family, friends, food, oxygen, laptop, what I would say if I were a dull dull girl listing the obvious. Let's go with my top 6 most favorite things, without which, life would be less wonderful:

Neapolitan wood-fired pizza
Overly ripe mangos
Flip flops
Reggae music
High doses of vitamin D

I am picturing a scenario where I have all of these at once, and a margarita...ahh pure bliss!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to be happy- where can I give more gratitude? Find more peace? Employ unconditional love? Show a genuine interest in others? It's hard work! A moment-by-moment practice.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Nothing is typical for me, I am far from habitual. I rarely have the same thing for breakfast! Usually my family goes out to eat every Friday, and after that it can range from a night in with DVR and some wine, or a concert, or to a friends house, sometimes it's a bar. I'm up for anything. It usually involves some drinks, so if you're a non drinker/super religious/straight laced type, I respect that but we wouldn't work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My mom still gets me an easter basket. She's just super thoughtful. If we were dating awhile you'd probably get one too.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
We have commonality. Overlapping interests. Or you have totally different interests that are equally rad. You're within my age range. You own a yacht and want to whisk me away to sail the Greek Isles (then ignore the part about common interests or age range.) Or you have a raft and a pool, that works too (then you must fall in my age range and be interesting.) I kid, but those who love the water get bonus points.

I've had 4 unsuccessful run-ins with chefs this year. Please don't be a chef. I will initially be attracted to you for the potential of a lifetime of good dinners. But then you will inevitably start acting like a chef.
