Live in a cool 2 bdr cottage all to meself with 2 goldfish ponds I put together and 2 chickens, yep, I'm THAT idiot :).
got laid off from last consulting job after a year, lack of work, last hired = first laid off, so worked at the Ballard locks and lately been landscaping which keeps me fit and I kind of like it, as I look for the next "real" job. whatever that means.. "real" job.. whatever...
I've decided to explore fine cooking more. Watching too many travel cooking shows and want to mix fennel and raw almonds, etc. Why Not? I really do enjoy cooking. It's art and experimental science you get to eat! Need more catfish.. more catfish! And my brother just got a surfboard I need to teach him to ride. shame the ocean is so close, but the waves are hours away.
I was born in England, but I've been in Washington most of my life and love it here - the mountains, the ocean, the desert, even the rain. I tend to go boating with my brother or mini-golfing with my dad almost once a week. I used to drive a cute '66 falcon futura with a ski rack on top that held my windsurfers. But alas, she's been put out to pasture (not literally). I always loved 6o's American cars, but now it's Toyota matrix and it's fine.
Let's see... I used to be in a punk band in college, now I play banjo and guitar. I was born in England, so I hold two passports which is nice for traveling Europe. I love cooking and gardening. I am addicted to music and enjoy most styles though I guess I'm more into pop/new wave for listening to, though now I play more acoustic folky, even irish stuff.
I've been an Alaskan fisherman, a Seattle writer, an English bartender and a French street musician. I like people who have their own thing going on - hobbies, for example. I don't care what it is as long as you have a passion for something. I love seeing live bands or just renting a video. I'm pretty easy going and unlike some people I don't get upset with traffic, I just turn up the radio and nothing really sets me off on a rant.
I enjoy meeting new people and am ready to see where it leads. I've got a lot of stories of my adventures so I can keep the conversation going, but I am curious and a good listener. I like to have fun (yeah, people seem to list that, like it's so unusual) so... as long as you enjoy life and have some hobbies, try me.
I just discovered the word "blithe"... and I like it.
I like my beer on the weekends (after a good, long day of fun) and coffee or tea in the morning. Reminds me , time start another batch of homebrew, maybe a hard cider after that.
I have met a few really cool people this way, but I'm still looking. It's been fun so I'm always up to meet more. I just want to keep trying 'till it's right. I don't have a "type" really; as long as you're happy with who you are, that's a big step. Maybe you decide what I should look for.
