My self-summary
My life if pretty awesome right now.

I'm a professional musician. I play jazz bass. I practice roughly 3 hours a day. It's a big part of my future career. Right now I make about 70% of my income from music.

Sixth street isn't really my scene.

I'm doing a lot of outdoor activities these days. Rock climbing, golf, disc golf, bike riding, hiking, water volleyball.
What I’m doing with my life
Just graduated so whatever the hell I want. Mostly outdoor stuff. Got a membership at the Y recently. Exercising and yoga have crept into my life. Also a lot of music playing.
I’m really good at
I recently discovered I'm a natural at cornhole. For those that don't know, corn hole is a bean bag tossing game. With a name like cornhole, I thought I'd clear that up.

I'm NOT really good at describing myself to a bunch of strangers and not feeling really awkward about it.

And apparently I'm good at double negatives.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my beard. But everyone's got one now, so I don't know. I was lazy about facial hair before it was cool.

I put much more stock into how people might judge my character than my looks so I really don't have a clue what people notice first when they look at me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: anything by Kurt Vonnegut, catcher in the rye, catch 22.
Shows: Dexter, the office, parks and recreation, fringe, breaking bad, the wire, x-files, mad men, game of thrones.
Music: jazz, classic rock, anything that jams.
Food: I try to eat food that is real food. Fruits, grains, vegetables. Organic is a bonus but not a requirement. I do have strict guidelines on meat, in short it's humanely raised and free from harmful chemicals.
The six things I could never do without
music
my cast iron skillet
intellectual conversation
days off
exercise (new addiction)
Amazon (although I've been working on taming this habit)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music. Literally the notes, rhythms and chord substitutions. Jazz musicians tend to nerd out on music theory. I've been studying/practicing polyrhythms lately. Makes my brain hurt.

In the mornings I often spend time thinking about ways to justify sleeping in. Like most people, I do a lot of justifying. Hey, at least I'm aware of it.
On a typical Friday night I am
I gig every Friday and Saturday, but I'm done by 10 on Fridays. While I'm downtown, I usually go out and have a drink after.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm 27 and I'm just learning to cook. It's never to late.
Just learned how to prepare quinoa. I'm perfecting the omelette.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–31
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You're down to earth and don't take life too seriously, but are still somewhat responsible.

You wanna trade cooking lessons for music lessons.
