My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm very laid back, genuine, caring, loyal, affectionate, and purpose-driven. I'm confident and know who I am, have a great heart and believe in the best of people. People fascinate me and I love to learn what makes them tick and enjoy meaningful conversations with others. My friends would describe me as a down to earth, intelligent, independent and discerning person. I like to challenge and grow myself in all areas of my life: mentally (learning new things), physically (healthy eating habits and physical fitness) and spiritually.

I'm a very honest person and don't play games. I like spending my time with genuine people and hope to find some on this website.

I guess I could talk about what every other person says on this site and it would go like this: I'm a fun loving person who likes music, traveling, good wine and food. Blah - that is boring. I mean who doesn't like to travel and who doesn't enjoy music? So here are some unique, random facts about me:

1. I had the opportunity to audition for the circus after college.

2. I have a quirk for weird healthy foods.

3. I like real jazz. That means artists like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and even more modern artists like Brad Mehldau. I know 99% of people on here don't really care much about it, but that's okay. We still could be a good match. Just be able to tolerate my music.

4. I like to read and watch shows about science, humanities, religion, history, yes, I'm kind of a geek and nerd. If all you care about is pop culture and the only conversation you can keep is talking about the Kardashians, then we probably won't be a good match.

5. The only felony I've committed was in 6th grade. I made a copy of a dollar bill to see if I could get a free coke out of the vending machine. It didn't work, but I did get suspended for making counterfeit money. I've been pretty well behaved ever since.

6. I had a homeless guy live with me for about 3-4 months several years ago. He slept on my couch. We actually become really good friends and still hang out to this day. Thankfully he is no longer homeless.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in the world of finance. Outside of work, I play jazz piano and occasionally play gigs with a jazz group. I also mentor a 15-year old kid from West Dallas.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm afraid if I brag about myself you might think I'm conceited. I honestly don't like talking about my good qualities. I think it's a bit prideful. Let's just say I'm good at many things. :)
The first things people usually notice about me

I don't know! If this is the first time you are checking out my profile, then please tell me... :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I've always enjoyed the arts and I love going to museums and attending cultural events. As far as music is concerned, since I'm a musician I enjoy all types of genres, but my favorite would be real jazz (not the elevator music kind).

I love trying new types of food and even unique, non-chain restaurants. I really don't have a favorite type of food, but my favorite type of dessert is anything with chocolate. :)

Regarding movies and TV shows: it doesn't matter to me if we have similar interests. It doesn't make us a match. However, if you prefer to fill your mind with nothing but horror / gore movies we probably aren't a match.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. iphone
2. God
3. Healthy and tasty food
4. Great friends / community
5. Being physically active - working out
6. Oxygen
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Trying to figure out what to put in this space.... Seriously though, I think about many things and I'm not sure if I focus on one thing all the time.....
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging with friends, a date (if I'm lucky), going out to eat, movies, theater, DMA, concerts, hanging out with my mentee, or sometimes just chilling at home. I also enjoy going to jazz clubs / bars to listen to live music.

I'm not really into the club, dance or loud bar scene, so if you are looking for someone to party with every weekend please look elsewhere... :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Hmm...I had to get up on stage in front of a large crowd in my underwear one time. Maybe I should have put that in my list above....

You think you would like me. And if you live fairly close. I'm not into long distance relationships hundreds of miles away.
