My self-summary
I'm a mid-westerner who landed out east for the long haul. Did grad. school in Boston, and fate has brought me to the greater NYC area, where I've started my own company. I get funny looks for asking strangers "How you doin'?" on the subway sometimes when we make eye contact...apparently you don't do that in these parts! Typically, I'm pretty easygoing for the most part and try not to let the little things bother me. Life is too difficult as it is to sweat the small stuff.
What I’m doing with my life
Working, working, working. Starting my own company recently has kept me busy, but I make time for those who matter.
I’m really good at
Playing drums, not taking myself too seriously, riding my bike with no hands, finding humor in the truth, and cooking to the point that people start inviting themselves over randomly (admittedly, I enjoy making people happy through food).
The first things people usually notice about me
From what I've been told...My height, probably because I'm 6'3'', followed by my eyes. People tend to think that I'm shy, which is far from true; I just like to listen before I speak.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: To Kill a Mockingbird (Atticus Finch is my favorite literary character, hands down), 1984, anything by Isaac Asimov, Where the Red Fern Grows, Oh The Places You'll Go, Short Stories and Tall Tales, Open (Agassi's autobiography), The Giver, Everything is Illuminated, Flowers for Algernon, and Dangerous Minds to name a few. I just finished reading Tyler Hamilton's book which was fascinatingly perspective changing.

Movies: Apollo 13 is my all time favorite. My childhood love of James Bond still exists. The Star Treks. Hook. M*A*S*H. Hunt for Red October. War Games. Men of Honor. Young Frankenstein. Calle 54. Buena Vista Social Club. El Mar Adentro. A Few Good Men. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Ray. Chicago. The Departed. The Help. Anything with Muppets. Too many good ones to think of, really, but those are at the top.

Shows: When I have time for TV... Any NBA game that happens to be on, though I prefer the Chicago Bulls. How I Met Your Mother. Chopped. Top Chef. I have my guilty pleasures, of course, but you'll have to ask what those are.

Music: I LOVE all music (the only exceptions being polka and screamo-metal) and love seeing shows. I can put on good music and get lost in it. I have deep respect for any artist who puts his work out there for the world to judge. I know this sounds generic, but I really appreciate a wide variety of artistic expression as long as there's a certain element of talent on display.

Food: Most things. You have to try everything once, right? If it looks and smells good, I'll most likely have some. I love to be adventurous. I'm a sucker for good manchego and cheap wine. Lox and Bagels are kind of a comfort food, too.
The six things I could never do without
-Friends/Family (one in the same, really)
-Music
-Long bike rides
-My grandfather's watch
-Sleeping in on weekends
-My drums
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Should I hire an assistant yet, what to make next for dinner, what my DJ name would be, when I'll be able to get a dog, how much I'd love to visit Nice again, how cool it would be to visit Cuba, when the Cubs will start winning again, you know, things of the like.
On a typical Friday night I am
Typically in the city hanging with friends or seeing a show for work-related purposes, maybe having a night in, possibly cooking something delicious and washing it down with wine, definitely followed by crashing like a rock from exhaustion in preparation for a more awesome, carefree Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I broke my nose pretty badly when I was a kid, and it's never looked the same since.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–27
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
anything you read happened to pique your interest, you can hang, you appreciate music and art (or at least can name all of the Ninja Turtles), you wanna throw down in an epic cook-off, you'd like to date a mensch, you simply felt the urge to say hey, you realize that I'm not being 100% serious in typing any of this, or any combination thereof.
