Hey there! Welcome to my profile! I'm glad you took the time to stop by, as you read this over you will find that I am a very easy going and down to earth person with a sometimes quirky sense of humor- not a difficult read. As you may have guessed, I try to keep a positive attitude. There is enough negativity in the world, it's easy to do that, why not take up a challenge and be positive. A few random facts about me: I live deep in the heart of suburbia and love it here (not a city person). The sound of crickets and coyotes at night is a great way to fall asleep. I work out (a lot) and derive great pleasure out of being in excellent shape. I generally eat healthy but I am not obsessive about it - everything in moderation. I love the ocean but don't like to swim in it. I generally think mushrooms as a food product are just plain wrong (they grow without sunlight). I absolutely love animals and will always have at least one dog in my life. I love my Dogue de Bordeaux and my Rottie and try to incorporate activities they can share with me into my routine. I am fairly skilled in the kitchen and enjoy cooking, but find it is a lot more fun to cook for more than just myself. I have been a competitive powerlifter for several years, working out is an important part of my life, but not the totality of my focus. Like most people I enjoy movies, a good book and just being outdoors. Camping and hiking is always fun as is biking or cruising around on the motorcycle.

Now the fun part - who am I looking for? I am looking for someone who can appreciate my off-beat sense of humor, someone who is capable of having an intense philosophical discussion without feeling the need to turn it into a confrontation, someone healthy in body, mind and spirit. This person must be a non-smoker and drug free. I am a firm believer in common courtesy (which as Samuel Clemens once stated - is an uncommon thing to find) and as a result I WILL respond to messages. Nothing like spreading the good Karma after all. :)

I am funny, athletic, and down to earth

I like to view life as a continuous learning and growing experience. If you stop learning, you really stop living. As such, I am always keeping my mind busy with one research project or another.

I'm really good at finding the funny aspects of situations, even if they are not readily apparent. Pointing them out and making people I am with laugh is always fun. I have a pretty quick wit in that respect and also have a penchant for trivia, which helps to keep people on their toes.

Hmmmmm, I have honestly never asked anyone what it was that they first noticed about me. I guess you will have to wait until we meet to decide for yourself ;)

I have very wide ranging tastes here, covering many different genres and cuisines. It's hard to tack down an absolute favorite in any one area, but a short list would include:

Books: Lord of the Rings series, Shogun, The Stand, Bram Stoker's Dracula (as opposed to the plethora of others that have been produced since), The Americanization of Benjamin Franklin, Treasure Island, Harry Potter (the whole series).

Movies: Braveheart, 12 Angry Men, The Last Samurai, Arsenic and Old Lace, X-Men 2, Aliens, Hellraiser, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars (original three), Yellowbeard, Big trouble in Little China.

Music: Phil Collins, Judas Priest, Pat Benetar, Black Sabbath (the Dio years), Dio, Wagner, Glen Miller, Devil Doll, Deep Purple, The Cult.

Food: Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, traditional American and also a confirmed choco-holic.

Generally atypical lol. I could be doing most anything, Friday is the beginning of the weekend (once 4:30 rolls around) so it all depends on what mood strikes me and who is available to join me on my next adventure.
