My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi! I'm John - an Engineer and an Artist. I have a day job that challenges my mind and earns me a comfortable living, and I'm fortunate to have a modicum of talent - enough of a classically trained voice to perform professionally at the DCPA a few times a year. I love all things artistic - the symphony, opera, theater, ballet, museum; you name it, I'll want to go! I have a critical eye and an interest in history, politics, sociology, and psychology, and I hope you enjoy a good debate. When the weather turns warmer (50 degrees or up), I'll likely be in the mountains, or trying to figure out when I can next get up, for a bike trip, hike, car camp, B&B, Hot Spring, motorcycle ride... or recovering at home watching Netflix or buried in a good book. In the winter, well, I'm in my first home without a fireplace, and I REALLY miss it! Blankets work well, but not as much fun :) I would love to share these things with a special someone...

I'm pretty fit, though I'm not crazy about it - I work out 3 or 4 times a week, mountain bike, road bike, hike, etc, but not every day. I hope to find someone who is also active and healthy...

Dancing is something I've enjoyed as well over the years. I've had a couple of years of social tango lessons, some swing and salsa too, though it's been a while. I pick things up rather quickly and I've been told I've got a very good lead :)

Hmm - I seem to get my fair share of matches with women who are conservative in their politics. I'm pretty liberal, and I think if you are someone who swings the other way we are not likely to see things the same way when it comes to history, foreign policy, guns, morality, sociology, whether or not dogs have souls, ... well, you get the idea :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've been an empty nester for 4 years now, and have recently moved to Westminster/Broomfield, from 20 years in south Denver, where I raised my 2 kids. At this point, I'm still searching - if that's an answer :) But, I'm loving life, enjoying travel every now and then (and would do more if I had someone wanting to get out of town for a weekend or week or more), performing, and reading. I typically gravitate towards history and the classics: currently I'm trying to get through Mark Twain's autobiography - the first book that's ever made me seriously think about getting a Kindle (I love old/used hard back books), and recently read Mutiny on the Bounty and a biography of John Brown. I've also recently read Sex at Dawn - according to Dan Savage, the most important research on human sexuality since the Kinsey Report, and I agree!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Umm - everything? Nothing? Jack of all trades, you know?

That I'm more attractive than my pictures. Either that or they're being kind! Seriously, I'm told that I have a sexy voice; particularly over the phone - one of my brothers has done a fair amount of theater, another was a morning radio DJ for AFKN in Seoul and Berlin, and (as I said) I sing - Bass Baritone is my voice classification.
