My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, my name's John. I can't count the number of times I've rewritten this part in hopes of making myself sound more appealing. When in truth, it's not possible. I think I'm a great guy. I'm a good person. I was raised to be a gentleman and treat women with respect. I'm funny, sweet, and honest. If you'd like to know more then you'll just have to get to know me, because that doesn't even scratch the surface of who I am.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Being the best person, son, brother, uncle, and friend I can be. I wake up every day and try to be better than I was the day before. I work in retail and I DJ on the side.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a really good friend. I'm pretty good at making people laugh. I try not to take life too seriously. I love to cook for my friends and family. I enjoy playing board games. My dad taught me to be ruthless at Monopoly. Lol. If you want to know what else I'm good at then I guess you'll just have to get to know me.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told that I'm not afraid to be myself. I also tend to get compliments on my eyes. They're usually blue, however, they have been known to change color.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I read more when I was younger, not so much now. I have read Jurassic Park and The Lost World at least twice each. Michael Crichton is my favorite author. I own Congo and a couple of his other books but I never seem to have the time to read them. I enjoy fantasy and Sci-Fi novels, Sherlock Holmes, Shakespeare (The Tragedy of Julius Caesar and Macbeth are my favorites), Robert Frost's poetry, The Hobbit, Terry Brooks novels, comic books/graphic novels. Earth Abides is another favorite novel of mine. Oh and I read Wikipedia a lot. I started the Fellowship of the Ring before the movie was released to theaters and still haven't finished it. I should probably get on that.

I love movies: The Avengers, Batman, Transformers, Boondock Saints, X-Men, Spiderman, Shawshank Redemption, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Little Nicky, Big Daddy, Ace Ventura, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty, Mrs. Doubtfire, Elf, Spaceballs, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Hot Fuzz, Shawn of the Dead, Disney movies. There aren't too many scary movies that i like.

TV: Castle, NCIS, Once Upon A Time, Lost Girl, Elementary, Bones, Dexter, The Mentalist, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, House M.D., Stargate SG-1, Star Trek, Looney Tunes, Justified, Burn Notice, White Collar, Body of Proof. And as ashamed as I am to admit it, I love Hart of Dixie. Lol. I don't really care for reality TV but I will watch it with someone else if they ask.

Music: The DJ in me will listen to anything and everything at least once. I like Rock, Oldies, 80's, 90's, Pop, Top 40. I grew up on Country music and that's what I mainly listen to. Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift are my favorite country artists. I am also a big fan of Dick Dale and surf guitar. I also like Avenged Sevenfold, Nickelback, Linkin Park, John Lee Hooker, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Poison, Metallica, Beastie Boys, and Guns N' Roses just to name a few. I have very eclectic taste in music. The only thing I don't really care for is Rap but there are exceptions.

Food: Italian, Chinese, Mexican, German, or good old American. I love a good meal and am a firm believer that a person can eat well and healthy at the same time. I love a good tasting beer: BBC Steel Rail, Harpoon, Sam Adams, Guinness. Especially Guinness. (What can I say, I'm Irish. Lol.)

Sports: Baseball and Football. If you want to know which teams i root for then you're just going to have to ask.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Besides health, food, water, air, and shelter:
1. My family
2. My friends
3. Glasses/contacts (can't see with out them)
4. Laughter
5. Music
6. My own transportation aka my car
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything!!! And then everything again. My brain is constantly occupied with at least 10 different things. What am I going to do over the weekend. The past, present, and future. The "Good ole days." Who would win in a fight... Superman or the Incredible Hulk. How is anyone supposed to figure out how smart, funny, and awesome I am based solely on my profile with out having met me??
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends. I have a fire pit in my backyard so a bonfire is always likely. If I don't have any plans then it's TV or a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I suck at most modern video games. I haven't been good at playing video games since Mario and Sonic stopped scrolling across the screen. I still love those video games to this day.

I'm not expecting to find the love of my life but I am looking for more than just friends. However, I'm not opposed to starting out as friends and seeing where things lead. I'm definitely not looking for pen pals. I get that this is a free site and I have to earn a little trust before we meet, but if all you're looking for is someone to email back and forth with then that's not me. I prefer friendships and relationships where we hang out and interact in person. I'm kind of old-fashioned like that.

Lastly, I've been known to be a bit shy about making the first move. It's usually because I'm not sure what to say. It's a lot of pressure to email an awesome person and be just as awesome plus witty, charming, and original. So don't be afraid to let me know you're interested. I'm not easily intimidated and if I'm interested, I will most definitely respond.
