I'm into art, music, movies, reading ( fiction, poetry, fantasy, Shakespeare, the Washington Post to name a few), yoga, walking, swimming, hiking. I play the French Horn in an orchestra, but can be found listening to many kinds of music from the Sex Pistols to the Grateful Dead to Brahms to Emmy Lou Harris to some of my son's rap music. ( yes rap music, does that make me a pariah in my age group?) Like dancing and singing around the house while cleaning. Sometimes like to draw and paint or garden, cook, or sew. Was a girly girl as a kid but don't necessarily believe traditional gender roles are always useful anymore. Enjoy watching sports on occasion. I work a day job in the corporate world to pay my bills and am fairly adept at keeping high dollar customers happy. Am fairly liberal politically and laid back religiously.

Grew up in a middle class household in the Rust Belt, went to public schools, and can appreciate the lowbrow like the county fair or a hockey game as well. Was born in Buffalo so I love snow and lots of it. Does anybody here know how to drive in it? Adore walking in freshly fallen white stuff especially at night when it's sparkling and looking magical. Love sledding down a neighborhood hill but have never skied.

Reinventing it after the end of a long marriage (widowed 4 yrs ago by a car accident) and an impending empty nest(20 yr old son half way thru college) looking to meet new people, try things I've never done before and shake things up a bit.

I write poetry occasionally and post it anonymously on a blog. It's mostly about intensely emotional stuff that's happened to me, relationships, and sex.

You can speak and write English well, have some creative interests and I use that term broadly. Be intense about something, maybe a little free spirited or quirky.
