Hello, my name is Jay! I'm 28 years old. I'm a nerd and I enjoy nerdy activities such as writing, reading, watching movies, playing video games, and getting tattoos (my lousy attempt at sarcasm, since tattooing usually isn't considered to be a "nerdy" activity. I work the night shift and attend school. I do both full time. Once upon a time, my goal was to become an addiction therapist, but like most things in life, that changed. I will have an associate's degree in psychology, but my bachelor's degree program will be in communications and culture. Long story made short: I would like to review and blog about entertainment and make money doing it. I switched because along my college journey, I rediscovered my love of writing and I watch a lot of movies (it's likely, I' will have watched 50 at the cinema by the end of the year), so it's a match made in heaven. Another thing is that I'm a crazy sports fan especially soccer and the UFC, but I watch football and baseball as well. I like playing sports, mostly soccer and boxing, but due to my work/school situation, I rarely get a chance. The amount of movement involved my job keeps me in shape, though.

I am smart, intense, and headstrong

Working nights and going to school. It's a pretty hectic schedule, but I don't seem to have an "OFF" button, so it works out pretty well. I still write for fun and practice every so often as well.

I think that I'm a good writer and I get no complaints. I've always felt that I have a knack for listening as well.

My size(I'm not that big), the way that I carry myself (I'm very confident and it shows), and my tattoos (I've got 11 with all of them being out-of-sight if I'm wearing long sleeves, and a couple of them are kind of large).

Books: As bad as this is going to sound, I read The Hunger Games and it's follow up, Catching Fire, and I really liked them. I loved The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo as well. Otherwise, I usually just read biographies and books about baseball(I really liked Game Of Shadows) and MMA(Got Fight? by Forrest Griffin was great).

Movies: Too many to list, but I'll give you a sample-The Departed, Watchmen, Battle Royale, (500) Days of Summer, Boondock Saints, Man On Fire, Forrest Gump, Gangs of New York, Death Note(both live action films), Heat, The Hangover, Near Dark, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill(both parts), Dark City, Drag Me To Hell, The Wizard Of Oz, Funny People, Snatch, Apocalypse Now, V For Vendetta, 30 Days of Night, Black Snake Moan, and there are so many more...

Music: I'll usually give anything a shot. I'm not fond of country, though. What I wind up listening to typically depends on my mood.

Food: I eat healthy. Chicken, seafood, fruits, and veggies make up my daily menu. I will go to a Chinese buffet from time to time, though.

I spend a lot of time thinking about life's journey and where it will take me next. I also think a lot about movies, especially directing and writing styles and why some really good films were never financially successful.

It depends. School work usually gets done at some point during the late night or early Sat. morning. Before that I usually get my groceries and catch a movie. I'm not much of a partier. I'm basically beyond that stage in life. Plus, I like to get up early on Sat. during soccer season to catch a game.
