My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I was raised in the jungle of my grandfather’s backyard within the Mission District of San Francisco, California. I was born half-Hispanic, half-sidewalk and would talk to anything that pretended to listen. I moved to College Station, Texas during the summer of 2010. I eventually found a home where words can express themselves openly and walked 6 miles to a blank page hidden away in Bryan, Texas called Revolution. I began reading my past aloud to the ears of audience members for a non-profit organization called Mic Check and I haven't stopped since. I am an English Major at Texas A&M University. Since the 4th grade, I've kept one of my closest friends in my front pocket; his name is BIC and only comes when he’s ready to write something. I constantly have reunions with my past; it’s the foundation for most of my writing. The rest comes from opening my eyes. I have an affinity for day old cheese pizza, comics, and losing bets. If you see me talking to myself, don’t be wary, I'm just attempting to transcribe everything the light touches into poetry.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am currently in school and I plan to become a high school English teacher to support my poetry habit. I am also the Writing Director for a non-profit organization which puts on an open mic every Sunday for poetry; we also venture out into our community to host a wide array of fundraisers, and we also go into the local high schools to teach them the wonders of writing.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am an excellent chef, can do a really good Doctor Evil impersonation, and can make almost anyone laugh.
