I am devious, wicked, and charming.

My Self-Summary

I have been in Brooklyn for ten years. I used to travel to LA for work and I loathe that place. So it is always exciting to make it back here.
I used to ride my bike to work in Manhattan every day until I quit my job. That happened quite recently.
I just bought a pickup truck.
I want to open a fish market.
I am doing research and I am trying all of the lobster rolls in the city. My side project has been to rate every cheeseburger in the city.
I have an extensive list.
Actually any culinary mission in this city is pretty worthwhile, in my humble opinion.
But this fall it is all about seafood.

What I’m doing with my life

I am neck deep in figuring out how to open a small business.

I’m really good at

eating. crossword puzzles.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Right now, I like spy novels set in Europe during the 30s and 40s (see: Alan Furst). The essays of E. B. White. Blues by John Hershey.

Movies: I have worked as a film editor for feature films for the last 10 years. I can watch anything and either hate it or love it. I have a real thing for war movies (quelle surprise). The Good The Bad and The Ugly is probably my favorite movie of all time. A couple of others: Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Annie Hall. I have working if rusty knowledge of the films by Maya Deren, Kenneth Anger, Stan Brakhage.

Music: Not going to do the laundry list here. Let's just say I have good taste and leave it at that.

The six things I could never do without

My Bicycle umm.... hmm.... Actually, I probably could live without my bike but it would be a less rewarding existence. I guess that's the point of the whole exercise. But really, does it have to be so dramatic?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Fish.

On a typical Friday night I am

I love to party.
Seriously though, it varies Friday to Friday. Usually have dinner out with friends.
